Get a design for a box that you will like and build it. Prefabs are generally tuned higher.

I'd build a replica of the Jeepers Creepers truck.
I originally thought about a big system in the back but I think I'd rather keep it simple and just drive around killing and eating teenagers.
Lol, yeah just keep it simple.
-
Maybe some kind of semi trailer build would be fun also. I dont think thats been done before.
-
What would I dream of putting a system in? A bus. That'd be fun
-
Nice vids, I like to see skar setups like this.
-
What do you really get out of lucid dreaming? Or is it just a fun thing to do?

I think I have a similar problem, starts up fine but dies if you dont give it gas all of the time. I'm pretty sure it has to do with the fuel pump or something like that because of previous problems the truck has had. However it it still driveable for me so I just deal with it.

Got the right kickpanel painted and put in. It looks alright for my first fiberglass job, could be better I guess.
I have a feeling I wont get much sound with that tweeter covered like that, but we will see once it is hooked up.

Glassin' The Kicks
The parking brake is going to make it a bit harder on the left side
Had to peel a lot of the tape off, it all stuck to the fiberglass.
I wised up and used some cooking spray but it didn't help it from sticking to the tape.
Both molds done
Hot glued it to the mold and trimmed it
Wrapped it in an old t-shirt, but little did I know that the resin jelly would not soak through the shirt. It stuck to the shirt and nothing else, so I peeled off the fiberglass that was stuck to the shirt and glassed it to the mold.
Body filling time
After sanding and filling a few times I was somewhat satisfied with the smoothness there were a few small marks. It looked alright so I primed it.
The left kickpanel
Cut and wrapped

On to the pics
Leg room FTW
Everything the component sets came with.
The old Xplod door speaker
I used the old speakers to help cut out a 6x9 to 6.5 adapter out of mdf
6.5's in the doors
The crossovers wired and screwed to the back wall
Tweeters
I had the tweeters screwed in the a-pillars and it looked alright but I figured I'd fiberglass them so they would look better. That will be done once the kickpanels are finished

Equipment for now
-Pioneer headunit
-Reference Infinity Amplifier
-Memphis Street Edge Subs
-2 sets of Skar components
There isn't much Skar, but by the time I am done I hope to have Skar amplifiers and subs to go along with the speakers. I'll try to update this whenever I get something done.

Badass! is that a person with a costume on?

Nice hairtrick, looks like it moves a lot of air for 3000 watts.
-
I'll have to make my bases thicker then. But as far as the resin to hardener ratio, I just put whatever in, probably more than needs to be. Does that affect the actual fiberglass mold? Or just how fast it hardens?
-
Even though the molds came off they did lose shape. And I'll have to make another pair later on and try this all again. You can sure learn a lot from trying something out, because everything I thought would work in my head has turned out differently.
Edit: I'll have to remember to try out the foil though.

So on accident I bought fiberglass resin jelly and it was way different than regular resin. It didnt work as well with the fiberglass mat, or cloth, I get them mixed up. Anyway I just peeled it off, because it was pretty flexible. Now all I have to do is sand the tape off and do the rest. Thanks

I was fiberglassing my kickpanels and after I put the first coat on the tape I laid down, and I forgot to put some kind of release agent to be able to take it off.
Any bright ideas to take the fiberglass off of the tape? Its stuck on good.

I had problems with my remote wire once. I was running a wire and in the middle I had it electrical taped to another wire to get from the HU to the amp. For some reason, when it was wrapped in electrical tape it didn't work. So I took a wire connector and crimped it on and it worked fine. Just an idea.

Got one of my sets in today. And they sound great. Now its time to fiberglass the kicks for the second pair.

Doesnt the fuse in the amp protect the amp, I thought the inline fuses just protected the wire.

Well you might waste some time and money but it will be worth it. Experience is a great thing to have. Later on you will want to upgrade and then you'll need another box built for you. This is my opinion and it might be different from others but I would seriously consider working on your woodworking/box-building skills.
