Why do you need the fuse though? The stock does not have have one.
who says stock dont have a fuse? just because you dont see one dont mean it doesnt have one, some stock units run the wire from the alternator to a fuse block then from there to the battery. old cars had 40a alt compared to what we have now at 140a stock 250a+ after market. i would use it since the manufacturer recomends it there is a reason to why they do
True true

Dude gulley is the bomb wish I would of heard of this sooner.
-
So basically take your time and do it right and you'll be fine. Thanks

Dont mean any direspect, but if I never know, it lasted without a fuse for 16 years why do I need one all of the sudden?

Thx for the links, but do you really need fuses? I know they prevent damage from short circuting but the stock system doesnt have fuses. Why is the extra thing needed?

I'm looking for a 300a fuse and an inline fuseholder for the Big 3 upgrade. Does anyone know where to buy this? I looked and it seems like its gonna cost around 60$ for both. I dont know much but I think there has to be a cheaper place to buy this.

One of the first boxes I built was for a 99 single cab dodge. If I had to choose a single cab to build in it'd probably be the dodge, there's tons of room in there for a single cab. I feel like you could get two decent 15's back there, amplifier and batteries in a toolbox in the bed maybe? Theres a pretty good amount of room under the front seats as well for an amplifier and maybe an extra battery.
Definatley Agree
-
I've thought about it but theres plenty of room behind the seats.. actually I found that theres about 2.5 cubic feet behind each seat. More than enough for a ported 12. (at least for mine anyway)

Of what to do? Why not give us model, space, goal, budget, and what you are willing and not willing to give up
Got a Dodge Ram 1500 Single cab 1995. 2 Memphis audio 12s. I already have somewhat of an idea how to make the boxes as I have made a couple. However my personality (anxious and impatient) I have messed up a few times on just trying to get it done. They were exceptional, they played music. But my latest boz was a ported wedge box that had the subs facing backwards. (I did this because I was tired of moving the seats forward for the subs to breathe and back for people to sit.) That was an idea. But I messed up on the box by cutting the wood too short and running out of wood for a second box. So now the box looks unnatural because of the L brackets I had to use.
I was looking for ideas because I thought that others may have an even better idead for a single cab, or maybe it would inspire and idea for me.. But What I'm trying to accomplish here is a ported box for a 12 in my truck that would still work if I wanted to upgrade, and without having to move the seats all the way forward.
As far as price.. I dont usually buy all my stuff at once I like to buy something, install it when I have time, then later upgrade it. Plus I have subs, an amp, and wiring already
Any ideas or input is greatly appreciated.

I think I just figured out that experience plays a big part in car audio.

Believe me I read it through a couple of times, I still had no idea about the extra set. Doesnt make a bit of difference though right?
-
Are you kiddin me? I had a monoblock and I was wondering why there was 2 different sets, I ended up shoving them together anyway. WoW
-
Ok now I can back up what I'm sayin, thanx for the info.
-
But I still dont get It, how does a ground to the engine help? You ground stuff to the chassis anyway.
-
Engine to Bat - Right? but what is the purpose of grounding the engine?
-
Merry Christmas to all and to all goodnight.
-
Big three is where you upgrade the positive from bat to alt, and bat - to chassis, and chassis to engine. Someone was trying to tell me I didn't need to upgrade the chassis to engine wire as long as I always grounded to the chassis, and all I had to say was, "I read it on the internet". What purpose does upgrading this wire serve?
its amazing how fast money disapears
