On your side i would try to get a 50 $ on the top- SA 12 is 200 Hifonics is 150 + the box, bnib AQ HDC 3-A 18 is 340!
Yea I didnt think about that. I agree try to get some money on it first.
OP have you tried posting your stuff on craigslist. I had some guy drive 3+hours and give me almost what I paid for my BRZ and Sa-12.
That's where I'm doing this deal from. From his pics, it doesn't even look like a AQ woofer. The basket and motor look completely different.
-
I should get get the 18 and then try and trade it for some SA-8v.2's lol.
-
That sounds like an amazing plan. Funny thing is, is that I was trying to sell all of that stuff to save up for more of a SQ type build. I'm now offically torn. Crap.
-
Ok quick question.
Dude wants to trade me his AQ HDC3 18" woofer with PSI Softparts, claims it takes 3000rms, for my Sundown SA-12, prefab box, and Hifonics BRZ1200.1.
What would you do?
-
Duh! I love that build! It came out looking really good man.
And thanks for the input!
-
i just got done building a custom box for 2 sa8v.2's for a more sound oriented build and they sound beautiful and get decently loud. i love em
just simple ported box built a lil smaller than spec
Do you possibly have pics or a link to said box?
-
I see what you're saying.
Are there any other advantages to having an isoberic setup other than loudness? Would it sound just as good if they weren't setup in an isoberic way? I'm can't wrap my head around how to build an isoberic enclosure or how to wire the subs up.
Also, i'm not really looking for big noise at all, just want some "punch" to the music. Ya know?
Cleaner sound, more dynamic music, notes more pronounced, harder hitting while enjoying the music and NOT be obnoxious ... easier to tune lower and play the higher notes with less effort ... man, this list goes on ...
Looks like I need to start doing some research then lol. Thanks for the tips!!

Level 2 8 to 72762?
Thanks again!
-
I would rather have 4 8s instaead of 2 in this application ported and tuned to 28 htz ... just me
Why's that?
P.S. I friggin love your truck. Out of just about every vehicle on here, yours is in my top 3 to listen to at some point in my life.
-
Hahaha I know what you're saying. I guess I wasn't very clear at all.
Let's see...2 woofers, I have a Hifonics BRZ1200.1 for them, not sure on enclosure but it would be built to specs, tuned to probably 30hz, I listen to just about everything EXCEPT rap, don't care about numbers or making people cover their ears when they play..... and I'm gonna hope its a bright, sunny day when I buy them.
-
Not straight SQ lol. I would be WAY in over my head to try and get into that lol. Basically what I'm asking is, is it a musical sub? Or is it just loud?
-
Would anyone recommend a couple of SA-8's for a SQL build? I'm not worried about being the loudest dude around but I would like a nice sounding beat in my rig. Build won't happen for a while but I'm just trying to get a product list together before I do anything.
Or does anyone completely advise against it? If so, would you recommend anything?
Thanks in advance!

Level 2 10 and Level 3 10 to 72762?
Thanks in advance!

Get better speakers is what I would suggest.
-
I wish I could make it! Just to check out the rides there. But it's a 4 hour trip and I'll have a newborn here by that time lol.
-
Looks good man! All I would say to do is clean up the wires, but you know that already lol.
Looking forward to the 4th order!

2 BTL's and youre only giving them 1k each.. they are probably screaming for more power. I tend to stay away from things like the Epicenter, Bass Mechanik etc... In my opinion, not worth the potential hassle they could be. I dont like things that can possibly add distortion or that alter the music as it is coming from the source. Seems to me like its an easy thing to get over excited with and cook some gear. You would benefit most from adding a lot more power to those subs.
What he said.
-
OP you list a single amplifier for the sub, so the speakers are being run directly from the head unit right?
If so the distortion you hear on them has nothing to do with the sub amp settings.
X2
I'm just trying to save your woofer and if you get a different for your speakers then the DD-1 will help with that also.
-
They are actually on amazon now. Check it out.

Haha ok i will turn those down... all the way ?
Checked the internet
and found the total capacity of the trunk which is 480 Liters
metal plate behind the rear seat:

Ive already cut a hole on the red lines
Planning on cutting on the green lines an screwing an MDF plate on it.. Good idea ?
Trunk Dimensions (in CM)
Nah don't turn your gain all the way down. Just your bass boost. I would look into getting a DD-1 so you can set your gains properly and not have any distortion. Totally worth the money in the long run.
-
First off, fix your gain and bass boost settings. Turn them down. If you go long with those settings you're going to fry your sub very quickly.
My bad, didn't read correctly. I would check all of your wires. Make sure the positives are going to the positives and vice versa.
-
Box looks great man! Veryyy clean.
-
Poor kid. I guess you get what you deserve if you piss off the wrong crowd.
Would you do this?

I found out it's the older style basket. I'm still weighing my options.
