  1. Well the crazy thing is I just replaced the Alternator a few months ago.(Back in February) I mean could the Alternator get drained from the subs? Yes It has died a few times. The first time I was sitting in traffic and it turned off on me. The second time was at a drive thru. The last time I had my subs on jammin on my way to work and it died on me while I was driving. Luckily I was turning into my job parking lot out of the road and was able to coast into a parking space. While I was driving the car jolted and the lights dimmed really bad. It happend like 3 times thats when it shut off and I coasted into the parking lot. Anyways, You guys are always really helpful here and I really appreciate it Thanks So Much! P.S. It hasnt happend in a few wees and I do quite a bit of driving. I just simply leave my radio off so that no additional power is going to the battery from the subs and I havent noticed any of those issues. Thats why I assumed it would be the battery. (But Im not a mechanic)
  2. I have a 2000 Buick lesabre with 2 12" Soundqubed subs wired to 1ohm on a Soundqubed 1200watt mono block amp. Basically my car starts to sputter and turns off while im driving if I have my subs on so now I just ride with my radio completely off. I jumped to the conclusion that I would probably need a new battery and I went by autozone to have it tested and sure enough the battery was bad. I have a Exide 78s Car battery the specs on the battery is: Exide NASCAR Select Auto/Truck/SUV Battery takes the power of the racetrack and gives it to you. 11-9/16 in. x 7-7/16 in. x 7-9/16 in. 44 lb. Terminal Voltage: 12V Cold Cranking Amps: 750 Cranking Amps: 900 Battery Type: Lead Acid Terminal Type: SAE Top Post Reserve Capacity: 130 min. Apparently I need a new battery that will be able to handle the load of my subs. I am kinda a newbie to car audio on my own I usually get help from the forums. What would be the best battery to purchase. I really dont want to spend alot of money Im a college student so If I can avoid it I would be happy with something that will get me by but not so cheap that I waste my time.and little bit of money. LOL Thanks in advance Guys!
  3. So would one XS battery on my car keep my system cool and lights from dimming or would i need more than one battery????
  4. No... I havent even put the subs in yet LOL... I was just thinking ahead in case it does happen
  5. I have a 2000 Buick Lesabre and I am currently hooking up 2 SDC 2.5 12s to an AQ1200d amp. I know my previous system I had wasn't anywhere near this level of power but I noticed my headlights dimming with my previous system. I figure since it happened on the old cheap system it would probably happen on this one. Im still in the process of finishing the build all of this is just a look into the future. Should I purchase 1 xs battery to relpace my stock battery to run my system on or would I need to purchase a xs battery and connect it to the stock battery somehow? Which XS battery should I purchase and how much is it? I am new to installing my own equipment so please break down the stuff for me because again I am new to installing car audio for myself. Thanks Guys!!!!
  6. Is there any way I can connect my subs until I can get enough money to buy a new amp???? (Currently at 1 ohm)
  7. Ok With that being said.... My amp that I currently have continues to overheat http://www.audioallies.com/GetItem.asp?Item=GP1600.1. I currently have it wired at 1ohm. How can I wire it to play until I can get my $ together for tha Audioque??? I just want her to play without shutting off help me out. Also I am very new to wiring and stuff so help me out as much as possible and as far as connections. Thanks!!!
  8. Ok...Ive been told to go for an AQ1200d http://www.audioque.com/AQ1200D-Amplifier_p_30.html. What do you think of that in comparison???? If I boosted my range to $300 and less what do you guys say???? What are some more good Amps out there for $300 and less that will last a long time?
  9. Sup World.... I need a new amp to power my 2 AudioBahn AW1200Q 12" subs http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_131_Audiobahn-AW1200Q-12-High-Excursion-AW-1200Q.html . I recently learned that the amp Ive had them on http://www.audioallies.com/GetItem.asp?Item=GP1600.1 was a A/B amplifire. I need a D Class and my budget is $200 and under. Help Ya Boi I need some Bass!!!!! Thx, Nipsy!!!!
  10. I have found another site with specs http://www.audioalli...p?Item=GP1600.1 . I dont want to connect this up and blow up anything but I have it wired at a 1 ohm load like the diagram. This equipment was wired wrong when i took it to the shop today and he told me to wire it in a series. He stated that the amp was not 1 ohm. Of course this was done by him just looking at it and not really doing any research. I dont want any of you guys to think I dont believe you I just want to make sure because I would really hate to blow this stuff and buy new equipment. Would it be safer to wire it down to a 4ohm or will 1 ohm be just fine. Again I am new to making my own connections and wiring subs is my weakness. I do currently have my subs wired at 1ohm but i have not wired back to the amp because I want to make sure on the forum that I have done it correctly.
  11. I was told that amp is not 1ohm so hoe do I wire it in series???
  12. One more Question... On the amp it also has 2 positive and 2 negative terminals.... Im guessing that it matters where the positive and negative cable go.
  13. So this set up will be able to work at a 1 ohm load??? Again Im new to this. There are four terminals on each side of both speakers. Do I run the speaker wire to on the outside terminal on positive and negative???
  14. I have 2 12" Audiobahn AW1200Q http://www.crutchfield.com/S-DLMNBAuBTq0/p_037AW1200Q/Audiobahn-AW1200Q.html?tab=features_and_specs#details-tab and A Crunch 1600watt amp http://www.audioallies.com/GetItem.asp?Item=GP1600.1. Thinking my equipment was bad.... I went to the audio shop and he told me the equipment was still good.(Wiring issues overheating my Amp. I want to know whats the best way to wire these 4ohm speakers to get the best power? Im still a rookie in the Car audio world and I am looking to do this stuff on my own to save more money. HELP PLEASE!!!!
