well not fuse a 15ft run is stupid.
big difference form not fuse just the run under the hood.
some people are going to tell you to fuse it and some are going to say dont fuse it..
who's right?
well, technically yeah you should fuse any wire that carries any type of load.
I never have fused a alt charge wire.
I have doen a "FEW" big 3 upgrades over my years. .......lol @ few

the grounding issue is because of hooking up the rca's to an amp before a ground wire.
i will get pics later
and the aa are strictly mid basses vocals sound like ass
so ill have to build some pods and get a dqx to run the active.

If it was my car I would NOT fuse it.
As long as your wire is routed correctly and terminaled tight, you would be ok.
Now is fusing it even safer? YES. and you would fuse it by the battery.

Wow just a little off on that one.
First off, personally i do not see a need for a fuse on a 1ft wire run, if there is a problem, let it burn.. hardly anyone will fuse a big 3 upgrade from the alt. to the batt.
Second, the fuse is only there to protect the wire. PERIOD.
Last but not least there is no need to remove the factory alt. charge wire, remember the whole reason you are doing this wire upgrade.......... path of least resistance.

i am an installer man.. i have done 4 8" setups prob. 60 times.. quad cab fords, quad cab chevy's, ext cab chevy's, reg cab chevy's, 88-07 and who is gonna build a 4 8" setup for spl?????
what do they hit?? 175db's.. lol
its kool, it sound spretty good.. imo.
sure 1 good 12 ported with the seat up is way louder.. but if you need legroom, well then something has to give.
if i had a reg cab chevy i would do 4 aa 8's ported, but that box would have to be f/g and very tricky to get the space, or a cut-through..
for the avg. guy 4 aa 's sealed, or 6 re 8's ported will do just fine.
as far as the size of the woofer, that is irrellavant, size means nothing. your not gonna get some weird sound off of them , like they wont hit low-bass???? and next 18's dont hit high bass????
CONE AREA. all that matters, and movment..= displaqcment.
pretty sure 4 8's outdisplace your 12".
and for the record. i have 4 18's in my own car.

then after your done with all that ask yourself if it would be worth 35.00 just to have it sent to you..

well if your gonna do 4 you can use aa 8's if you were gonna run sealed up you could do 6 re 8's.
