  1. I wouldnt. making the port longer lowers tuning frequency. If you knew anything about AQ and you're not one of those idiots who thinks you need to tune to 25 in order to get low end output you'll realize that his tuning is perfectly fine.

Not that anyone is an idiot im sure he said he couldn't find out anything on aq, but i did ask aq reps and they did say 3.5-5.0 cubes for each sub and that they generally like a higher tuning around 35-38hz so i am trying to keep it in that range. I just wonder about the port cuz if i put the hight and width in a different location it gives me a different net volume and port area. i am trying to keep it on the lower volume cuz they will see about 1000wrms each powered by a kicker zx1000.1

  2. Well i am finally building the box for my aq 15" going o start a little today and little by little after work. so now i wanna know which way to put in the port specs in the torres calc? If i switch the width and height of the port i get different numbers. So which is the right way to put the width and height?

  3. agreed^^^ you get what you pay for. also it says made with Oxygen free copper. so it wont be completely OFC. another thing to consider. I'm telling you knuconceptz has good cheap speaker wire.

Yeah i going to chec k them out now... but may go with audiosavings deal they got 125ft for 15$

Check autosavings. I think they might still have a 120ft spool of cadence speaker wire. I think in the $20 range

thanks for the info checked them out

  4. that wouldn't cause your static unless it is crimped or cut at some point or loose connection. static comes from source unit rca could be problem. if your speakers are amped i woulndt do less than 16 gauge wire. some guys on here and everywhere use 16 gauge. some use 14 gauge. depends on length of run and power going through run. if your looking for good cheap wire, knuconceptz is awesome wire for the price and you can buy in quantity you need. Rockford Fosgate has good wire as well. I run a mixture of the 2.

great thank you cuz i change the ohm loads on some speakers and when i changed them i started getting static i pretty much went from 2ohm to 4ohm and seperated some speakers cuz i added another amp in my car and thats when it start after i switched it. so now im pretty sure some speakers may actually see more power than they did before.

  5. Well recently i have been getting some static out of my speakers and i am decideing to re-wire all the speakers and replace rca's. just curious on speaker wire cuz right now i have either 18ga or 20ga wire on the speakers. would having a thinner wire like that create the static if im putting more watts through them than what i s exceptable? since im on the subject of speaker wires does it matter the brand or what are some good choices i have for the speaker wire?

  6. I have an 02 and have been through multiple setup's and even if you cut up the opening to the trunk inside the car I dont think you'll be able to get a proper size box in the trunk. Even if you do manage to get a big enough enclosure in the trunk you most likely won't have room in the trunk for the amps so those will have to go on the back seat. Then you'll realize well fuck I can't use my back seat now so I might as well build a big ass box and put it where the the seats were ( my current setup) or build a wall (this spring)

    Edit: for grammar

yeah i was thinking that after i went outside an did some measureing. and not to mention i will need an extra battery.

I've got a 2000 Mustang with 2 skar 12's in it and I had to cut some of the metal bracket on the seat away and even then I could hardly fit my box in. I couldn't imagine trying to fit 2 15's in that kind of area.

yeah i know the 15's look like it may not happen but i want to still try cuz i dont really wanna go with the 12's

  7. so right now i got everything i have hooked up in my 2007 ford escape. i am wanting to transfer the subs and amps only over to my mustang. what i have are 2 aq sdc2.5 15's powered by a kicker zx1000.1 amp each. has anbody got any experience with this style of mustang? (2000-2004 body style). i was going to build a traditional rectangle box but it looks like i will only have 7.8 cu ft without port or any displacements. thats not enough for for the 2 aq 15's. i was thinking about doing a few areo ports but not sure how to do this or calculate it. anyone with experience willing to help out?
