trying for 9 cube net and tuned to 35hz. and i thought about just
spitting it in half and if i do i will end up make a bigger box cuz of the
port volume right?
Yep thats right. I just made my first box. Make sure you have a long port, or you will gett air sound from the port. Im looking forward to see more.
Yes i have seen your box very nice. I was thinking of this box design
\But i am still not sure. AQ just emailed me that my subs wont be made till late october was disappointed but i cant be to upset about it. just gives me more time to decide and build this box right
-
check out obsidian audio and their subwoofers. you wont be disappointed. plus customer service is great.!
I already went with AQ sd2.5 15's now just deciding on a box type
-
Port in the middle adds "free" bracing. Port along the bottom will more then likely lower tuning as the hatch/box will extend the port length.
8.5cubes net 16^2 port area per cube, tune to 35Hz if you play a lot of low stuff. You have 1kw per sub so 4.25net each will be fine.
If you play a lot of Decaf stuff then make a port reducer to drop tuning even lower when you play that stuff. Around 12^2 of port area with the reducer...
Ok so with a port down middle how should i have the subs fire? I would like to achieve a great sounding box that will also get loud. And the decaf is something i will look into i always appreciate peoples love for music cuz i also create my own chopped an screwed music. i just use turntables and other midi devices with different programs. i been doin music for awhile now also. Just heard of decaf from here.

nice:D i would go for 1 chamber 1 sub. just split in half. and tuned to 26 hz. thats what i would do, the boxes looks prettty good
how many liters and what is it tuned to?

Needing opinions on these box styles. The dimensions will be close to LxWxH 22x40x24 not including the port or dimensions yet. So here are my options i would like to choose from. Any other ideas are preferred.
Box ideas for my AQ SD2.5 15's

But would be the best box option stated from above?
-
so what about polyfil? could i use that to trick the box in seeming larger than it is?
-
you dont wnana go big or small you wanna try to get the encloser very close on the moeny when your building it dont makeit like a cube bigger but there is a 0.15 to 0.05 cube le-way when your doing that
alright cool so i got it right now at 9.03 w/o displacement or bracing

Subs up port firing to the hatch
the port should it be in the middle or should i have a port at the bottom the width of the box??
-
thing is i dont know who on here builds boxes so i just ask the question on these forums... although i alsways get different input i will end up figuring the best way some how
-
KenC210 i thought you changed your mind about the AQ's
O i dont know but i did end up ordering the AQ last night sd2.5 15's so right now i am starting to decide on the box dimensions. Cuz AQ sent me an email that each sub will need at an ideal volume is 4.5 each sub. so i am getting input from peeps on the box. like which would be best, for the subs and port to fire up or back or any other type of combination
-
would it be ok to have both port and sub pointing up?
-
so another question would it be better to go with a larger box or smaller?
-
Where is the sale at?
http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/121465-sundown-october-sale-sa-101215-and-sax-1200d/
There you go bro but i went with AQ after all
edit: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/categories/Sub-Woofers/Sundown-Audio/
they are doing the sell some other sites aren't
-
ok so which would make these subs sounds the loudest? Options on port and sub direction?
-
Best bet. I tuned to 35.
Doing that would do?? Also, how far away should my port be away from any obstruction? Say the back hatch? Also i am putting this in a 07 ford escape if it helps
-
well i guess i may as well start playing with torres calculator and see what i can do. i may as well try and stay around the 9 cube

Ideal box is 4.5 net cubes per sub. Tuning for good combo of spl/sq is 32-36hz.
So does anyone that built a box for their AQ subs have any suggestion?
edit: i see that AQ suggest 4.5 per sub didnt expect to have to build a box this large for 2 any other point of view?

Ok so the second channel with the 2 8's will end up being empty? That would just want to make put something there
-
LOL. i already know if i dont plan on upgrading i will be lying to myself... but yeah the 6.5's i already got are on a 4 channel now. I will get the 2 8's and tweeters tomorrow, so the fedex tracking number says, i will end up putting all speakers to the 4 channel till i get another amp. So would there be a purpose to get 2 new amp?
-
Id get a 2 channel for your tweets and a 4 channel for your mids.
why the 4 channel for the mids? i only got 1 set of 8's
-
As long as you don't mess with fade or balance it'll sound fine.
cool thanks bro that made a lot of my headaches go away...LOL i guess i will just have the 8's together and the tweeters together for now till i get another amp. Should i plan on getting a 2 channel or 4 channel? cuz i been looking around and it seems to get an amp that is near the 100wrms start getting expensive. I have seen that i could achieve around 100wrms at 2ohms on a 2 channel amp and see that i could get the same from a 4 channel amp. just it seems to be about the same price. So what would you suggest?
