  1. Either way id isolate your tweeters from being on the same line as your mids.

Yeah well i was also thinking that i wire the 8's together in one channel and the tweeters in the other. Just thought it would suck cause i would either have just left or just right to the speakers

  2. Well id wire them on separate channels so you get the most out of em 2 tweets together 2 mids together.

Was something i plan on in the future. I just have the 6.5 3ways right now to the amp that are on all for channels. I was planning on wiring the 6.5's together on the 2 rear channels and have the 8's and tweeters on the front channel. Or another thought was have a 6.5 and 8 wired together and have a 6.5 and tweeter wired together. just wasn't sure yet. Just the amp was going to have to wait couldn't get another amp right now.

  3. Well how much power are you planning on giving them? How much do they handle? Do the tweets have a crossover built in.

The 8's handle 150wrms the tweets handle 100wrms and the amp they are running to will be a kicker zx650.4 one channel is 160wrms @2ohms. so i guess each speaker will see around 8owrms give or take a little. The tweeters do have a built in crossover.

  4. Yea I know lol all the shows are down there. 4 hour drive tho. By the way don't listen to this other guy lol

LOL. yeah, well since you are being very helpful... i have a pair of 8's and some tweeters coming the mail. So i was thinking of wiring an 8 and tweeter together cuz they are 4ohm, i want to get the 2ohm load what are you opinions on this

  5. that first pick a brand of the sub then pick the coils then pick your amplifier then you shouldn't have problems matching up the ohms lol

Yeah i know that now... i am just very new to most of this. all i use to do was plug and play didnt really look to much into the specs of everything. but after spending some time on this site alone i learned a grip a things

  6. There's a link on there page under tech tells you exactly what tp do.

Yes i ran across it before a saved it on my computer thought it would be helpful later. Well now i seem i could use it. I also know that crunkjuice on here got himself a dd-1 he's from san antonio also so i may try to hit him up when i get everything fixed up. I would even throw in some cash for the help (or some beers) who knows

  7. thats the reason why i didn't go with the Kicker ZX2500.1 (11ZX2500.1) and went with the rockford fosgate t2500bdcp since im looking to strapped 2 t2500bdcp lol and plus i seen few Kicker ZX2500.1 (11ZX2500.1) birth sheet they all came close to 3000 rms but the t2500bdcp 3540 rms and at 1 and 2 ohms lol cant beat that

Thank you buddy but i spent a lot less then you on your 1 amp then i did both mine. and bought them new. 8)

  8. O well gain match em.

Well how would i do that? Only thing i have access to is a dmm. I know i seen how to set the gains to get the watts using a dmm. Is that they way to gain match them? I would just set the gains to read the same volts?

edit: just guessing here i am fairly new to this. i use to only just plug and play. so i am just reading a interpreting it the way i see

  9. So i now have got my order of 2 AQ sd2.5 15's and will be starting a box. I will be putting each sub in its own chamber cuz i will be running 2 amps, one to each sub. I have 2 kicker zx1000.1 and the subs will be wired down to 2ohms to get full potential from my amp. This is going to be my second box built and my first one was a total fail. So what would be a great net volume to shoot for? I will be tuning at 33hz. How should the subs and port face? I plan on a slot port.

  10. So would there be any problem in wiring my mids and highs with this? I ask cuz my 4 channel is under the seat and all wire was cut for clean build and now will be moving it in to the cargo of my 07 ford escape. I dont have any other wire under 12g other then this unused home speaker. I have six strands of this wire that are 20-30ft long.

it'll work, but it wont work as well as bigger wire can. if you have a dmm handy, measure the resistance from one end of the run to the other.

a 30ft run of 18awg should read close to .2ohms.

so just to think i got i got this right if its wired at 2ohms then the resistance would be 2.2ohms? if its close to the .2ohms of resistance

  11. Well thanks for the input. Seems everyone can agree that each sub performs well, so i guess i will go with aq since the price is 30. cheaper. Thank you all

Good choice, you wont be dissapointed. Oh yea welcome to the club :drinks:

LOL yeah you be the first to get a pm if i am... B)

  12. Anyone got other opinions on this? Which one is sounds better or is there very little comparable differences. I have gotten emails from both and i know they both will handle the 1000wrms i will be pushing them with so i just wonder what other people think?

  13. Any opinions on either sub option? I was planning on getting a pair of sa-15 or the aq sdc2.5 15. So anyone with experience with either subs would like to help me decide? The AQ are 160 and sa are 190. I am wanting a nice clear deep bass sound that will get loud. Other than the price are there any comparable differences?

  14. Well I have 2 SA-15's on 2300rms before rise in about 7 cubes and they get warm after a full song. So I'm planning on shrinking the box about a cube. I'd do 2.5-3 cubes per 15.

great is that the net or gross volume? I have the 2 15's i got now in a ported box each chamber that is gross 2.74 and net at 2.53 port freq @ 35hz. so you think the box i got built already would be well suited for these 2 sa-15?
