  1. Ok so i have picked up a yellow top, got it new for $50. so temporary till i get the xs power, and i am going to wire it in the cargo of my ford escape. I was looking at This relay >>> http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_28365_The-Install-Bay-IB500.html and think it would fit my needs. My main battery is a diehard gold http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_02850640000P I do have the big 3 upgraded. A h/o alt will be ordered soon just saving up for it. I am wondering is it a good or bad idea to use the relay? If not what options do i have for wiring the second battery up.

  2. I don't have one. But something just occurred to me. If I'm crossing over into the USA, wouldn't they get suspicious of a huge ass enclosure in the trunk? What if they try and tear it open? Anyone have experience with this? Seen some news articles about meth smuggling and hiding people in there as well..

where you coming rom? or you just asking

i came oversees and it wasnt an issue

  3. My boy as a boss and he blew the internal fuse within a week. it was hooked up right cuz i did it. kept blowing the fuse even after putting a larger fuse in so i just ran it direct w/o fuse. told him he should scrap it cuz im sure it will mess up eventually running w/o fuse. i stick with pioneer also.

  4. common give us a hint as to your creative test? lol or just email me. :drinks:

yup just wanna know what other people would do... me personally would use a box with a speaker on the inside having one of the walls a piece of sheet metal with a deadening material on it and get vibrational results. Also putting like a small fan in the box to see how much noise it would cancel out. But i dont know i want to see what other people ideas were?

  5. There are standardized tests for testing these materials. Oberst Bar SAE J1637 and ASTM E-756.

Out of my own curiosity (without the aid of any company, i.e. NOBODY FROM SECOND SKIN HELPED ME), I set forth and tested a little more than 30 different products. I spent close to $2K collecting samples and figuring out a fairly straight forward and reliable test method. And like I've said many times, I am extremely reluctant to release this info for several reasons. The data collected would probably piss off all but a handful of companies and/or individuals. That and since I work for a company that makes some of these products tested, people will of course bitch and complain about the results no matter how good or bad they may be.

You can actually test these products a multitude of ways at home, it just takes a bit of creativity. :D

Well i guess after your test you wont disclose the information, but i guess you could say are you getting what you pay for? There are several products that are cheaper in the wallet, but is it cause of the thickness of material. i know what its made of will play a factor as well so which material would be best I have seen several alternatives like peel and seal but i personally think thats out of the picture. i dont want alternatives i want positive results that will last.

  6. have gotten quotes on h/o alternators from: DC: 250a for $589. https://www.dcpowerinc.com/ quality power auto:250a for $330. http://www.qualitypowerauto.com Mike Singer: 260a for $375. http://singeralternators.com/ still waiting on reply from mechman and ohio gen

Anyone have experience with quality power auto, or mike singer? im pretty sure everyones experience with dc is nothing but good but trying not to break my pockets. an extra 200 could always go towards something else
