you could probobly fit 3 12's in the same airspace where you had 2 15's, main issue i would see is that you may end up with some odd ohm load
this here was an option i was thinking but as you say the ohm load would be something

Go with the skar, it will kill the lows in a good box. Im pretty sure this thread will also get locked though.
Why would it get locked?? i dont see it violating anything...
OP i have seen a lot of great reviews on this forum and a few other forums about the skar brand makes me wanna try them out. although i dont have any real experience with skar.

Yep. I find that camcorders work better than phones or digicams.

So from me switching would i get as loud as the sdc 15's or whats the main difference in running 15's or 12's

thermal handling is different.. Also what amp an ohm load are u running.
currently 2 kicker zx1000.1 each sub at 2ohms
edit: plan on going only 1 amp possibly aq2200

what about hdc3 15s?
wouldn't mind those but i would like to get some more room from cargo area to build amp rack and get a good air flow with a few fans maybe

So currently i am running 2 AQ sdc 2.5 15's and the box is just over 10 sqft gross and tuned to 35hz... pretty much no room what so ever in cargo and its 2" above window line. folding seats down is not an option for me, even though i would love to do that. So what i was thinking was going with the aq 12's but upgrading to the hdc3 series. So what do you guys think?? Could i get as loud or possible louder with the 12's or would it be better to stay with 15's? What are some pros and cons of making the change.
edit: also whats the difference with copper coil and aluminum coil

I use pioneer deh 8300ub and i have a 16g usb thumb drive that i use... i just put it on random and it shuffles through all folders

well i was kind worried about playing any more lower than that cuz i tuned my box at 35hz but if some of you guys are playing tones as low as 17hz then im not so worried playing that if i can in the first place... also i got each sub powered by its own kicker zx1000.1. also yeah i noticed how much stiffer the suspension was when i got them in the mail... lol i was like hell these things dont even move

17hz is the lowest I've gone
I'm pretty sure it's because of their suspension.

Just wondering how low have you played your subs?
i was playing a song from decaf today for a demo that was 29hz and i was getting crazy flex a vid tomorrow cuz i know how we are on this site, "vids or it didnt happen" lol mine are the sdc2.5 just curious cuz AQ seems to need to be tuned high so i got mine tuned at 35hz

I hope they werent talking here in san antonio or even san marcos... i live in san antonio and dont see anything like that around here.... they do however have a lot of q power kicker memphis other low market products and some main stream items but nothing of aq.... -
If they still play he probly didn't ruin them but it definitely wasent good for them at all. Probly will need recones soon. Check the coils an see what they read.
so i just got back from my boys and i checked the the voice coil and checked what they read and they seem good. he has a 1.3 final ohm load and each coil is reading at 3.9 - 4.1 ohms... so i told him he should be fine.

when you say "full tilt" do you mean the volume turned all the way up or set to dd1 max?
regardless, dd1 will tell you how to set your gains. it does not compensate for subs in the wrong enclosure
or, did you set gains with -10db and then play something with -1db bass?

Not sure...he was paying some decaf though cuz he was using my thumb drive

this is true i sell on craigslist first to make more but i in no way over push my product saying its better than another or wont do what its capable of
