So I was at my boys house today he wanted to show me his setup he just got... Well he set gains using my dd1 after playing full tilt for a min our so he seen smoke come from port and cut music right away... Does he got anything to worry about? The subs bang just fine after awhile he is curious about it as I am...

Is on the battery the best place for a ground? I just dont have enough 1/0ga wire to make another run from rear to front battery ground.

I ground my amps in my cargo area in pre made holes that had bolts in them... seemed like a good spot i will get pics up later. Also what do you use to prevent rusting?

When i am clamping an amp i know i use the clamp and dmm. Is the formula ac volts x ac amps = watts? and if i want to find the average what tones do i play them at? do i start from 20hz and go up at 5hz intervals and do i use a -5db tone or 0db?

I am in the same situation as you... interested in what you have planned... what i am going to do is the 2 amp setup for mids and highs. 2ch for the low mids on 8" crossed at 60hz-300. i currently have a zx650.4 kicker and will be trying to sell that to get an audioque amp 120.4 which has the bandpass feature for all four channels that will be controlling my 6.5 mids and tweeters. the 6.5 mids i will bandpass them from 300hz-5000hz and the tweets hpf at 5000hz... thats my plan any ways

I am wondering more about the crossover points it seems the aq amp is better for my setup cuz I got a 3 way setup and I am also curious about the sundown amps.mainly the 4 channel amps

Im pretty sure everything is wired right and in good spots on ground... It may be location off it cuz it is between the sub box and rear seat...I drive a escape... Although I got another cadence amp next to it that doesnt get as hot

this was a main concern of mine. right now my 650.4 seems to run hot quite a bit and now its getting towards summer heat and i live in south texas. i just wouldnt want the heat to cause my amp to go into protect

Not a versus thread i should add.... Just wondering the opinions about the quality of kicker amps compared to the aq line of amps... I ask because i may end up changing out all my kicker amps and look into aq.

I just got a pair of the AQ super tweets and I love them!!! I definitely am tuned in
Could you decribe more on the sound of them? Are they really sharp on the ears or do the sound pretty clear
