sounds fun. better have some electrical upgrades in your plans too

You can tap into the cig lighter for a constant power if one is near the H/U or what said about the fuse block for one. Any place that has metal under the dash for a grounding location.
I dont have a cig lighter but i do have the thing to charge phones and what not...
if your charger stays on with the car off, then that will work

when you go to paint it, take a piece of paper and fold it over in half, but dont crease it, leave it "rolled" over and tape the other side together so it wont come apart. tape pieces that way area you need to paint with the "rolled" edge nearest the area. when you paint it, if the color is not an exact match, this will allow a little overspray(controlled area) under the roll and help it blend much better

take the time and build yourself a box to spec for your setup, that will be one of the biggest improvements you can make with what you already have

Is there a way to build/live other than drunk?
not effectively

Okay cool, so here's what I'll do:
Next paycheck, I'll go grab some 1/0 AWG wire and knock out the big 3.
I'll look into a new battery for my car, and maybe I can get one within the next month.
I'll also investigate my ground and see if I can find a more suitable location for it, if my problem persists.
sounds like a good plan keep us updated

look at the only bright side here, you can likely just order a new basket and swap everything over. if you are really cheap, like me haha, you may even be able to straighten it up enough to weld that crack up and have a working sub again
-
pretty nice sub cutout for using a jigsaw haha, but in all seriousness, looks nice man.

sucksbadman. at least you paid for them to pkg it up so you should be fully insured, sucks tho :-\

i am looking for any good quality 1/0 dual amp kit that has the 1/0 wire, 4 gauge wire, fuses, distribution block, 12 gauge speaker wire, battery terminal and everything else i need. im looking for the best price or best bang for the buck. post up any offers with what is included and for how much
the knukonceptz kit is $135 new, thats some good wire for a reasonable price if you are wanting brand new quality.

looks good man, lovin the wheels

well, theres your part of your problem. thats definitely not the best place for a ground

an easy start is the big 3, helps everything flow a little better and thats always good. beyond that, start with upgrading as money becomes available to a better battery up front, maybe even a larger group size if it will fit. not sure about your particular vehicle, but also changing the idle speed up 2-300rpms may make a noticeable impact on how many amps your stock alt puts out at idle
Okay I'll look into changing the idle speed. Do you know of high output alternators that don't cost $550 a piece like Mechmans?
yea there are some out there, as i have bought a few others before, but for what its worth, i ordered a mechman yesterday haha, so that should say all i need to say about that. and for your power, you really shouldnt need a HO alt, just look into a nicer battery and the big 3 as a solid foundation. also, make sure ALL of your grounds are good. a weak ground can really affect dimming, voltage drops, etc
Alright, I don't mean to sound cocky, but growing up with my dad being an electrician, I guarantee you could pull a ground/power wire loose with a winch. Haha but yeah I'll look into a dry cell battery or something.
ok thats a good start. and being tight to the grounding point isnt the only factor in it being a good ground.... cleaning the area to bare metal, a good choice of a spot(i.e. not on the trunk hinge) and other factors are important in good grounds also

the torres calculator makes it as easy as can be, cant really mess up the math that way

talked to mechman for about 20 minutes coming up with a good solution for my custom application of a cs144 style ho alternator. good guys, now just a couple of days until the party begins
-
I'm going to start off by making the port roughly 47", making the tuning 26hz. I will see what it sounds like in the vehicle and adjust the port accordingly.
A 47" long aeroport? Where will you get it at, how will you fit it in the vehicle, and why? Lol...
my thoughts exactly. you should re-check your calculations on the length you want. what are you trying to tune the box to?

nothing can touch the raw look, looks awesome

nice artwork! looks awesome

looks good man, with the amps sitting in the recess, might consider some cross-cooling fans to blow across the fins, just an idea i have used in the past that has worked well

picked up a t1000-4 for a smokin deal, thanks guys
