  1. That little sub digs deep in the right enclosure. Perhaps I missed it, but how many of these subs are you planning on running? You're drastically losing cone area if you only use 2. 4 of them, and you are really close(still slightly under) the cone area you had with the TypeR setup. What you need is a proper box for your vehicle, and possibly to experiment with different box setups. BassBarbie on.this site put up some straight retarded numbers for a couple of SA8s. You may check get build out, she did BUNCHES of testing though and put the time in.

OP, you sound smart, do your research, buy your equipment and BUILD. Honestly, at the end of the day, you're looking at a Sundown product, it will be well designed and constructed. I can't imagine you being disappointed, unless a mistake is made in your install. Im a big fan that it is HEAVILY reliant on your enclosure, the results you'll get.

  2. Cleansierra i repect u from other threads u seem smart about all of this and i have been reading on here for close to a year now the speakers are covered the set up was designed by dd and me dd has the speakers and amps covered the electrical is the only thing i wasnt sure about so i thought i would get on here and ask yes i am a kid im 18 and really love car audio ya i know yall dont like me very much cuz the semi batts thing but for right now i only have a hu and one 2000 watt amp when i get all dd amps i will have all xs power batts the mechman alts and everything the turning the truck off and playin is in my town we set at walmart and listen to music do burn outs and stuff like that for hrs on weekends in the end i am still a kid im tryin to learn wats best an right to do most of yall just say bullshit and call me a lier (slamminbeats quit now if u stick to ur word you pist me off before i repected and liked u) so i will say retarded things get lots wrong but we are human if u look everyone that says positive things i thank or try to at lest if i didnt sorry thank u now im sure u were at my stage one time or another and my final word i will make more threads askin more questions if u dont like wat i ask or nothing positive to say dont post

Sorry that my attitude was shitty, you seem like a nice kid. Im glad you did some research before posting. I still thinkyou are going overkill on your sound stage but it IS you're sound stage. Good luck and please post pictures when you start building.

  3. 5 tweets in EACH A-pillar huh? Please do me a favor, don't post anything more for awhile. Just sit on the side and read as much as you can on this forum. At this point Im not trying to hate, Im trying to help. It's clear you're young, and don't quite know how the world of audio works yet. Someone your age doesn't need to be trying to cram 5 6.5s in each door and 5 tweets in EACH pillar. You don't just put as many speakers just because you can. like I said, please don't post for a little while and learn a few things first.

  4. still waiting on subs. When i get subs i can decide the amps. When i decide the amps, i can get started. Rumor has it the new SMD's are about to be ready but i can't confirm that.

Hmmmmm, the Not-so-instant default to RF is a little out of your pattern. Is Mr D up to something lately? I know there was a subwoofer design, RCA cables, but what's next? Are there some kind of crazy plans for an SMD/D'Amore amp project?!?!?!
  5. I love these,"can I over power my subs" threads. Why do you find it necessary to drive double the RMS power to a sub. You gain NOTHING. It is not going to do anything magical when you throw double the RMS to them. What it has a GOOD likelihood of doing is sending a lot of extra heat. Granted that they are well built and can take tons of power, but why are so people so interested in this? It's it just so you can brag and say,"yeah I am running 1200 watts to each of my SA12's and they're taking it like champs"? Also, youre but very likely with efficiency and impedance rise to see the full 2400 watts anyway. Do you really want to be that customer that has the story,"I was told I could run 1200 watts to a sub rated for 600 watts and it blew, I have no idea why"? Please keep it simple and buy an amp that does 1200-1500 and call it a day.

  6. So it seems very troll-like to give no REAL input or ideas of what you're attempting. Of course everyone is going to speculate on the "build" plans. We see a thread like this once a week. With someone that only has 5 or 6 posts on the forum, it's pretty easy to believe that there's no real build planned.

*Edit- You lead us to believe this is going in a trunk car with subs facing up at the deck lid. You also suggest a port firing into the cabin. I know if NO trunk that would allow such a setup. Good luck with your build.
