  2. All I'm wondering, how can a sp4 12 on a tc basket will work yet a dc 12 level 6 on a tc basket wont. Sounds like nut hugging to me. Iove my AA/Fi subs but I highly doubt the 12 inch sp4 will work. They both have a 4 inch coil and 10 inch landing. Unless Scott has made changes to it and have not posted them I will still have doubt .. I just know I wouldnt give any of the 2 subs it's rated power if they are 12 inch.

It's a newly tooled 6 spoke Ti basket, not the existing 4 spoke Tc Sounds version from the past.

If you want to see it fail, look at my rebuild that will have 4 of them in my blowthrough. Mine will have Crossfire dust caps though

  3. Im feeling a little sceptical but the CJ guy says he can get me a frame, and recone hmmm

Good luck getting enough spider to allow any excursion. I know you look to have changed your mind a bit which is a good thing.

Just a quick FYI, the Level 6 coil is 3.5" in diameter. It doesn't leave you with much meat on a typical 9.25" spider.

The new 6 spoke basket that Fi/Crossfire came out with will accommodate a 10" spider. Look for the Crossfire XSv2 12" in a blowthrough in the near future.

Incorrect. The Level 6 uses a 4" coil. To be built it would use a TC frame and 10" spider. Same spiders that are used on the 15" and 18" versions.
Oops, I was thinking of the Level 5.

Can I see a tape measure on the Ti basket to show it's truly a 10" spider? My Crossfire C7 12s utilize the 4 spoke Ti basket and I've been told they are only 9.25" spiders. I know there is a reason that Roger won't put the big XS motor on my basket and that's because he said there isn't enough spider, hence the reason they tooled the new 6 spoke Ti basket with TRUE 10" landings.

    they are true 10" spiders

I'm sorry, I need proof. I need to see a tape measure on the spider and spider landing to believe it.

  6. It fine to over think but you are over thinking way to much. Which is ok but we are trying to help you. Even second skin said. My roof flexed from rain droops. Silverados have horrible roofs. 1 layer of shit deadener worked great. I'm not even going to add anynore.

I didn't even cover my roof 100% and it's fine as well. My truck does pressurize pretty well and I don't need any additional deadener.

  7. No need for 2 layers as mentioned.

I'll get a feel for it when the headliner comes down.. my 2 shallow JL's on a 1k amp would flex the roof so 7x the power on 4 12's should make it get nasty. Others have warned me about how bad the flex is on a titan roof. Won't really know until all is said and done I guess but thanks for the advice.

I was one of the others that warned you about the Titan. They suck to pressurize and they flex bad. You should go about deadening the right way though, not just throwing layer after layer.

  8. It's not all deadener. It's a combination of deadener, ccf and mlv

This 100%. The purpose of deadener is to reduce/eliminate panel resonance. Closed cell foam is a decoupler. Mass loaded vinyl or MLV does just that, adds mass. Guys that do multiple layers are only achieving adding mass when they do it. Many guys think multiple layers are better, not knowing how deadener works.

Read up on CLD tiles(butyl backed deadener), MLV and CCF , BEING used together.

  9. I'd personally go bigger than 1 cube sealed. I'd start out with 1.5 and then shrink it if you need. That sub is VERY well mechanically controlled by its suspension and the larger the sealed section, the lower your sealed resonance ie, the better the lows will sound. I'd also choose more port area than 60" personally. My Crossfire C7s don't have nearly the Xmax those Zv4s have and I'm at over 60"(66" to be exact) per sub.

Why are you doing a 4th order bandpass enclosure for this sub? The answer to this question is important
