Anyone? And as far as my posts go..If questions arise should I continue posting on this thread or make new ones?

Question - If I have a custom box built for my 2 planet audio BB15s 8CF @ 32hz will I have any problems when I eventually replace the subs with DC or DDs? Will I have to make a new box? And Will going from 2.8CF per sub to about 4CF per sub make a big difference? I read somewhere that bigger box and bigger port area should make it more likely to be able to do a hairtrick as well as hit low notes better. -Thanks, CMW

Those batteries cost more then a new alternator lol. I might just get the 130amp alt for $168 and another battery. My funds are kinda on the low side atm. Oh and where can I get a good SPL meter or something? I see alot of people using some kind of software on their laptops, is this downloadable?

Ok, I found this alt so far. Still waiting on a reply from DC Power. http://www.maniacelectricmotors.com/130amphiousu.html Think that will work for now with maybe 1 or 2 more Kinetic HC600s? Oh and I just repositioned my subs.. One sub n port facing left side of hatch and other facing driver side of hatch. I can actually feel air pushing through my window now. woooooo! haha. Wouldnt you think my focus should be on beefing up my alt, Batteries, and power cables then maybe getting better subs? My volts while driving are like 12.8-13.8. Sometimes even lower if its a continuous low note. Oh and is it possible my amps not even pushing out 2400W since its only getting 60-80 amps from my stock alt?

So, Whats the deal with caps? Are they a waste?

I dunno if i can manage to build a ported box that wont sound like $%%^$. lol. I was thinking of maybe doing subs up and port aimed back right into hatch window. I guess ill toss the cap and get me another battery and possibly some DC audio. Only thing i didnt like about my current Planet Audio 15s is that they have a foam surround instead of the thick rubber that some have. Oh, What about getting 2 Digital Design 15s? Would those or DC audio in a custom box give me more output then my current subs?

Thanks for reply! xD So, The cap is useless? Whats your opinion on my current subs/box? I did notice my ports seem to be alot smaller then most peoples. I might consider getting a box thats 6CF tuned at 32hz. Only problem is they charge like $300+ to make me one. Ive also been told 12ga is way too small for what i have. Any thoughts on that?

Hi, This is my first car stereo. I currently have 2 Planet Audio BB15s wired at 1ohm to a Hifonics Brz2400.1D. Two seperate ported boxes at 2.8CF tuned to 30hz. Stock Alt, 4ga power cable, 12ga speaker wire, 1 Kinetik battery KHC600, and a 8Farad Cap. It gets loud but I am trying to see if there is anything I can do to get the most out of my current setup. Even considered selling the 15s for something better but around $200ea. I play my stuff really hard. Any suggestions? I am afraid these subs might not take a beating like I tend to give them. Also, Should I have a custom box built? Sub up port back? Heres a short vid of my setup. Suzuki Aerio. And 1 off topic question... How hard is it to get a car into sound offs? I cant get enough of BASS!!!
