Ha NICE! when i put the JL box, thats in my trunk now, in there i had the covers on the subs and i had to dent one of them to get it in. Not a big dent but thats how tight it was. lol... because it was made for a jeep it has a hard time fitting in a sentra. but the DC box isnt gonna have any trouble fitting. lol

geeze thats HUGE! haha i got my dash kit from Radio Shack. i think, because its textured, im gonna sand it down and paint that and the surrounding plastic pieces so it matches. And i think in the future im gonna drop another DC in there and run 2 lvl 3s. so your box def gives me hope that i can fit them both. haha

haha ok. yeah it took a good while for us to figure out how to get it in there. lol... And my dad said that it just arrived to my house today so we are building the box and settin everything up this weekend. ...winning... ha... im also gonna play around with position of the box, see what sounds better.

hey guys this is my first build log. but technically my 4th "system" originally i had 2 Jenson 10" subs in a prefab 4th order. (crap) then i upgraded to a single 12" JL w3v3 and doubled that shortly after to 2 JLs. Thats was when i had a jeep and those things flexed the windows pretty good. (for a noob that didnt know alot) lol... But now i put them in my Nissan and they pretty much take over my whole trunk. So i wanted an upgrade with less box space... So i went to the 12" DC lvl 3. Thats what this build is for. Changes to the car: tinted windows tinted taillights Carbon Fiber vinyl hood/trunk Pioneer headunit Hifonics HFI1000.d (possibly soon to be an AQ 1200) DC 12" lvl 3 (in a ported box) box will be tuned to ~34hz The surround to fit the radio is a FAIL because it doesnt match the rest of my interior. so im gonna fix that. Dont know what im gonna do but ill think of something. 2 JLs facing up port back. worked very well in my jeep, not as much in the Nissan. re-doing this. might not look anything close to the same. New amp mount set up soon. More pics to come. Building the box this weekend with my dad. And unboxing the sub this weekend too. Should be at my house tomorrow, its too bad in about 3 hours away in college. :/ I got the red dust cap to kinda match my car. box will most likely have some red on it to keep the theme. and thanks for watching my build, any suggestions will be appreciated.

ok well im working on a build with a DC lvl 3 12" in a ported box. I plan on making the sub face back, and port face back. I already did a kind of paneling set up, with my amp, where when my seats fold down its walled off with my amp mounted in the middle. (i dont have any pics thats why im tryin to explain it). Its not really sealed off but i mean it blocks alot of air. lol... i plan on re-doing it when i get my DC in. Should i put some holes in it to kind of "port" it so that air and the sound can move freely between? or should i just scrap that idea all together and mount my amp differently and leave it all open. OR should i just orientate my box where it is sub forward and port forward, then seal off around it. Thanks for you advice and help. This isnt really a part of my build that ive really thought about and i wanna get it right. lol

alright thanks guys, but i dont want any fights. lol... i might just wait and buy new once i figure out how much im getting for my JLs. that way i know its under warranty and everything. not to discredit your friend, Speedball. I just want to make sure im getting a product in the best quality.. new. lol... might not even buy an amp, depends on the JL sell. then if or when i upgrade. ill do what i gotta do.... now i feel like this post is a waste.... haha

gotcha. well i listen to mostly rap and dub, and my friend's system hits pretty low and i want that. lol... like a noob, i really want to hit highs mids and lows like LOUD. but i know thats really not possible unless you have a boat load of power running. but im def going for more lows than anything.

what i dont understand about planning on future builds... is it about building on your current build? cuz if not it really doesnt make sense to plan a build that is gonna make you change everything you currently have. lol

no, thank you Speedball. anything helps im new to car audio but im really interested. ha... so im just trying to learn as much as i can... this might not be right, but i thought that if the DC is in a bigger box with the right port, it'll play more lows, and vise versa, if its in a smaller box, with the right port, it'll play more highs? is that generally right or am i way off on that? :/

well im sure im gonna want to run another DC sometime in the future. but idk if i have the trunk space. lol... i have a 2001 Nissan sentra GXE. trunk is big enough for a ported box for 2 12" JL w3s, but just barely. ha... so i might be able to squeeze in the DCs.

ok cool. well idk if im gonna need it. :/ i know that DC level 3s are recommended RMS 600. but they do run well at higher power. i mean is an amp that is 1200 RMS x 1 Ohm gonna be too big for 1 level 3? im kinda a noob so sorry if im asking dumb questions. lol

I am selling my 2 12" JL w3v3's. Im currently running them on a Hifonics Hfi1000.d. I already ordered a 12" DC level 3 and planned on using my Hifonics amp with it. But if when i sell my JLs the buyer wants the amp with it, as a combo deal. Im gonna need a new amp for the DC, when it comes in. Any Suggestions for a college kid with a budget. lol Thanks for your suggestions.

the max dimensions on the trunk is 40 wide 27 deep and 16 tall. 2001 nissan sentra gxe. and the seats do fold down...
