i know the DC 2.0K amp has a main power terminal that can hold 0 gauge wire. what is the size wire that the speaker terminals will accept? is it 0 too or 4 or... what?

ok DTrain. im confused u'll have to help me set it up when i get going. lol... but do i need 2 sets of RCAs for sure? 1 for a 4 channel and 1 for a 2 channel? the 4 channel would go to the HU and the 2 channel will go from the 4 channel amp to the mono? o.O

i meant between amps. My bad. i just realized that the 4 channel has 4 inputs for RCAs. and a channel 5 input. so do i put a set of RCAs into that channel 5 and send it to the mono block?

ok well i was thinkin about getting Karma SS 4 channel 6meter RCAs and running them from the back of the HU and 2 going to the 4channal and 2 going to the monoblock. but u think it would be better to run to the 4 channel, then over to the mono? wait does a 4 channel have 4 RCA inputs? lol

im lookin at some RCAs for a build, just tryin to get some prices put together to see how much to spend. and im gonna be running 2 amps. 1 for the subs and 1 for the highs/mids. one of my questions is, since i've never ran an amp for my mids/highs, do i need to have RCAs running between subs? or just from my head unit to each amp? thanks for the knowledge.

thats exactly what my family says. They dont understand thats its something i like. They think i just like the loud bass. and i do. But the build is much more rewarding than just listening to music. lol... at least thats how it is for me.

umm i used to have a prefab 4th order box with LEDs in it and all u had to do was connect the tiny power wire of the LEDs and the ground to the wire terminals on the box and they flashed with the subs. they even did different intensities with the loudness of the bass... so im pretty sure thats all u have to do and it should work. idk if the LEDs had resistors that i didnt see inside the box to lower the power so the LEDs wouldnt blow. but thats all i had to do... just my 2cents.

i'll probably pull mine out when that time comes. its a donut anyways. lol

haha ok. i was just wondering. i saw a build log a sec ago where the guy pulled his spare out and put his batteries down there which seems like a good idea but also with no spare, if u get a flat, u better have some good friends close by... or AAA. haha

i was just thinking... when people do a huge build in their trunk of a sedan or something like that, the spare tire is under the floor of the trunk( in most cars) and im realizing that if you get a flat tire... ur screwed. lol... i mean is there a way of making a spare tire more accessible that i dont know about....Just a Random thought... input would be nice.lol

no pics of the final ugly box yet. so chill bro. hahaha Dude i already had an idea for my next box... 4th order with the port shooting straight through that square where i had my amp mounted into the cab!!!!

Ok got an update. Box is finiished and bumpin! we thought we finished it last night when it looked nice and clean like this: without the top, of course, but there were air leaks.... like alot of air leaks. lol... so we re glued the top and sealed everthing on the inside and put it back together... lets just say it doesnt look good. but "SPL doesnt look good either" so its all Good. O.o Also i used 8 guage wire inside the box and out: and some fancy splitter my dad magically had in the shop. lol So we finished late and couldnt take any pics of the box does. so ill do that tomorrow and ill take a good vid. Probably use the song, "Nightmares from the Bottom" from the Carter 4 cuz that song BUMPS! lol.... so u'll see the finished product tomorrow.

oh snap! haha im an idiot. my bad. I have JLs now and in the process of a DC build so this is funny to me. I have been happy with my JLs but reddy to move on to bigger and better things... DC. ha

what i dont understand is why did u only post the JL's "second best score" but u posted the DC's "best score and second best score" did the JL win the battle you just didnt want us to see??? o.O

So got an update. got back to my parents house today and was baby was waiting on me! my DC lvl3 12" was here, So we started on the box. this is day 1 of the build. i honestly didnt expect to get this much done today since we didnt start till like 5 and end at 9 or so. this box is gonna be double baffled, and after painting the port red i decided to do the whole box red!. so tomorrow putting another coat on the port and the first coat on the box, cutting the holes in the baffle for the sub and finishing paint. Letting it dry and everything over night, then wring and mounting the DC on sunday. Pics and possibly a vid (if i can figure out how to get a vid up on the forum) will be comeing both days.

i just texted Jeff about the amp he said they "do more than 1200watts" from clap tests.( his words) D-train-13K what do u think i should do to start with? just save money and order everything together or get a little bit at a time over a longer period of time? Decisions Decisions!! haha

is the DC1.2k much more that the AQ1200? haha

@D-Train-13K umm i know your brother was gonna do that but i was told just 1 AQ would do it. I guess i could strap them i just need more money for that. lol... is the AQ 1200 stable at .5 OHM? i know strapping the AQs would be more power, which would be great. lol... but i plan on kind of building this system over time. for the money reasons. :/

well i mean can they switch the voice coil to 4 if i asked? i'll get it switched out if its possible and if it doesn't cost alot of money. lol... and i dont know how much the DC1.2k is i just know that the AQ1200 is a good amp...

so im going to have to wire like this to get a 2 OHM load.

was thinking about wire each sub to 1OHM, then running the AQ1200 at 2OHMs and pushing each sub with 875rms... or is that not right? lol

well i already have 1 that is D2... not D4... :/

im thinking about upgrading my amp from the Hifonics HFI 1000.d to an AQ1200. Im gonna be running 1 DC lvl 3 12" on it. I plan on getting another DC down the line and running both on that AQ1200. Would it be bad to go ahead and get the AQ amp and run just 1 DC on it? would i be risking putting too much power to it and blowing it? or should i just wait to get the other DC and the AQ at the same time? any advise would be Grrrrr8!
