Thanks for the reply. If the SA-6.5's are as good as everyone says, I will be eagerly awaiting the NS-6.5's!
-
The sa's are awesome. I use them and i won't use anythingelse (yet)
From the reviews I've read, I know I'll be happy with them!
-
Thanks for the replies. I am not ready to drop that kinda cash on a set yet, so if that is true I might have to wait a while on those and just order the SA's now.
-
Any word on a reference set of components? I am about to buy a component set and am thinking of going with the SA-6.5CS's, but I remember Jacob saying he was working on adding a "reference set" to the line up.
Just wanted to know about the possibilities before I pull the trigger on the SA's.

I dont get why youre saying hes lucky. He gets good grades stays out of trouble and has parents willing to step up and give him what they didnt have at that age. Blessed for good parents yes but I wouldnt say hes lucky. Hes earned it.
He's lucky because he has parents that care what he drives and that bought him a good vehicle. I got good grades growing up, but I still had to work my ass off to buy my own car. My parents didn't have the money to buy a car for me, which is why he is lucky.
Lookin' good Steve.

Thanks for doing another give away Steve.

I've never had a line out convertor or a processor, does this differ from the 3sixty.3 in that the 3sixty.3 gives you complete tuning control of all your channels and this just allows you to run amps with the factory head unit?

Bigislandboy bought my second AA Mayhem. He was easy to work and communicate with also sent payment fast through PayPal. Would definitely do business with him again.
-
Shortwide1994 bought one of my AA Mayhems. I received payment within minutes of giving him my PayPal address. I had no trouble contacting him and he responded promptly to all my pm's.

if you dual 1s, then you are either at .25, 1, or 4 ohms.
how is your gain set? Are you turning it up to compensate when you wire the subs to a higher ohm load?
Like this but 1 ohm instead of 1.5 ohms. For a total load of 1 ohm, not .7 ohms
-
Without specifics it's impossible to see how much your electrical can handle, but with your amp running a load that low, I'm gunna say you don't have enough. Why not run the amp at a .7 Ohm load? Like I said I don't know anything about that amp and am too lazy to look up specs right now, but it should still have plenty of power for the two Mayhems at .7 Ohms.
-
What is your electrical like?
-
I don't know anything about that amp, but is it stable or recommended to run that low?
-
If you went with the 240A alternator, you'd need roughly 200 ah in your batteries. Just measure your stock battery and see what is offered by XS with those dimensions, or measure the stock battery location to see what you can squeeze in there. Subtract the under hood battery ah to see what you will need for the second battery. I'd go with the XP serries for the second battery if you aren't going to be burping your system in competitions.

CJ pm sent.

Thanks CJ. I didn't think the part about turning the gain down was right. I wouldn't have done that anyway.
-
Thanks Ram.
-
Thank you MrSkippyJ. That was an explanation that I can use. I don't have the amp yet, so I will look at an amp that will run around that power at one ohm. Thanks again.

I'm not running anything right now. Just trying to get things figured out for what I want to run. I just bought a VW Passat and don't want to give my whole trunk up for two subs, so one is what I'm planning on and I want a little head room with power from the amp. I am perfectly okay with spending whatever I need to spend on proper electrical, I was simply trying to find out if I would need to beef my electrical up to the point of running the 3.5k at a 1 ohm load if I am going to run it at a 2 ohm load.
-
How about this, you send me a brand new 3.5k and I'll send you a brand new 5.0k.
-
it says on their website it does 1800watts @ 2ohms. Try helping yourself maybe?
Exactly what I'm getting at. A 1500 watt sub running two ohms off a DC 3.5k seems to be a pretty good match.
you can save money and just get a amp that does 1500 at 1ohm. but do what you want its your money. how abou this i buy you a amp that does 1500 at 1 ohm and you give me the 3.5k
Where do you get that I am complaining about a 3.5k or anything to make you think I don't want a 3.5k? Yeah a 1500 watt amp is good, but after box rise and music dynamics, having some extra wattage is what I'm after. God-damn, does anybody read the first post or do you just read the last few and think you have it all figured out?!
-
If I ran a 3.5k amp at 2 ohm instead of 1 ohm, would I still need the electrical reserve (number of batteries) as I would for a 1 ohm load?
^^^^ This was my original question.

Only looking to run one IA Death Penalty off of the amp, not two.

Goddamn Steve, still making the rest of us look like NOOOOOOOb's!! That's awesome right out the gate! I think you need to do a new build when you do GAF (yeah the IS-F is a GAF but I wanta see more subs, van?)!!! Keep it up man.
