  1. Double check your mute wire. It is pretty common for the wire to be kinda loose in the wiring harness after you move it to the new spot. Most likely it is not getting a good connection to ground. I have done alot of these this way with no trouble @ all.
  2. Once you moved the mute wire, ground it along with the parking brake wire. That should do the trick. or you can mod the software. Click on the link below for directions. http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=17715
  3. It's a great alarm but the range is not a mile. I feel comfortable saying it is reliable within 300 ft under the most jacked up conditions & probably ok @ 500 yards if you are not sitting in a bank vault under an electronics store @ a shopping mall.
  4. I've got a ZX1000.1
  5. What shipping service did you use? UPS, fedex, ect? I would suggest that you contact the shipping company & give them the tracking information & ask them to stop delivery on the package. Claim you were ripped off with a fake check or something. I'm really not sure what they would tell you but it's probably worth a shot.
  6. I'm never gonna use it. PM me if you want it. $5 off any purchase over $50.
  7. I can get you one when I get home. I am assuming you want an ANL fuse holder? correct? If you don't want to wait, you can grab one off of ebay.
  8. Thanks bro. I'll get you a tracking # as soon as it ships out.
  9. roscoe1129 = good buyer! Dude sent funds as soon as I sent the paypal invoice. Highly reccomended.
  10. Glad to see you got it fixed. Grounding issues are a mofo sometimes.
  11. I did get a response from joe morrow concerning the origional package. Still burns my ass that I paid for 3 day shipping & it took a month.
  12. I have a 791 on my truck. My kid got ahold of the remote & did the same thing. I had to reprogram it. The instructions to take it out of silent mode are in the manual I posted.
  13. 1: Velcro, tie wraps or hot glue gun 2: O scope on DMM 3: use a AA battery. Put 1 speak wire on the positive side & the other on the negative side. If the speaker pokes out, you have found the positive & negative wires. If the speaker sucks in, you have the wires backwards.
  14. Viper 791XV owners manual or just call toll-free at 1-800-753-0600
  15. I don't have an answer as to why the orgional batteries suck balls. All I know is that if you replace the battery with a new one, you will notice a huge difference. I have a 5701 also. I like it FWIW.
  16. Where is your antenna @? Also the batteries that come with the 2way remotes do not last very long @ all. DEI offers free replacement batteries. The replacements are much better than the origionals.
  17. I've got the hookup on the viper 5901 for $240 + shipping.
  18. You are correct. The Avic Z2 does not have a detachable face. I had my wife pull the fuse under the hood & reset the module. I had a friend stop by & rewire the 12 volt acc wire (red) on the radio to the accessory wire on the ignition harness. My guess is the same as yours. maybe the alarm / remote start is giving the module a dirty signal of some sort. I hate those stupid GM data lines! Thanks for your input.
  19. I need 2 pair of Rockford Fosgate Power series 5.25" coax
  20. So how do I disable the data line / the module in order to reset it? I'm just looking for a quick fix until I can get back home & rewire it. This problem started right after I installed a alarm/remote start. Probably just a coinsidence though. Stupid ass module!!!
  21. OK fellas, I've got a problem. I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe. I installed a Pioneer Avic Z2 in the truck. I used the module to retain the factory chime & accessory wire rather than go directly to the ignition harness or fuse box for the ACC 12 volt turn on for the radio. Well it has been working fine for the last 6 months. I am currently 300 miles offshore out in the Gulf of Mexico on an oil rig @ work. I won't be home for 2 weeks. My wife called me this evening & said that when she got home from work & turned the truck off, she got out & closed the door & noticed that the radio came back on. She had the keys in her hand. I have seen a handful of these modules go bad in the past & usually if you unhook the module for a few minutes & hook it back up it will reset the module & go back to working normally. I actually had to do this last week before I came back to work. It seemed to reset & was again working as it should be when I left. Well I guess it's acting up again. Here is my delima: My wife is in no way electronically incline. I won't be home for another week & a half. when I get home I am going to remove the module & tap the accessory wire on the ignition harness for the 12 volt turn on & resolve the problem. But in the mean time the damn radio is still powered up until I can get home & fix it. Does anyone know which fuse in the fuse box controls the ACC wire in the radio harness. There is not a fuse marked radio in the fuse box according to my wife. I am thinking that if I can tell her which fuse controls the acc function I can just have her pull the fuse for a minute or so & put it back in to reset the module until I can get back home & fix it myself. Any input on this situation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. EDIT: No bose / No onstar
