About Me

Hi all, My name is Matt, also know by the hip-hop alias "TrYp MyNe (trip mine)". I've been following Steve for a few years now, I'd say since 2006 at least, and I guess in a way, he's inspired me not only by his passion for automobile work, but for the cleanliness and personalization of his work. I'm into doing things that others have never bothered to do with their rides, and although I ride around in a bone stock 93 Mazda MX6 4-banger, I managed to save up enough for 2 Audiobahn AWT121 subs (I think thats right, they are 400rms a piece, DVC, flame design on back of basket) back when I was around 15. I had purchased a Power Acoustik Plasma series amp, and at the time, thought it was amazing. That was until I got a little too loudness happy with a sealed box and fried the amp out. Since then, I managed to get a great deal on a Kenwood KAC-7204 Class A/B amp, stereo, pushing 500rms max. So roughly 250rms out of the amp per channel. While not the loudest, it definitely packs a nice punch. I moved into a ported box as well, and noticed soon how much of a difference that made. Running off of an old Alpine CDA-9824 head, it gets the work done until I have voltage drop. The only wire I haven't been able to run is the ALT to Batt wire, which should fix up some of my voltage drop issues. Amp overheats because it's not getting the current it needs, so I usually keep it low. But I do like to bump it as loud as it will go just to feel my teeth chatter. Other than car audio, I work a job from home making under 10 an hour, so needless to say, not doing to well money wise, but I'm making it. I've always been a person that anyone can come to for help. I've helped numerous people wire up their systems, cleanly I'll add, and they never usually have problems unless it was there beforehand. I've always got my head in the cloud with technology, and I love finding the latest and greatest. Engadget is my newspaper, and YouTube is my news ticker. If you want to know any more, just ask about it. I know I haven't even covered half of it lol.
