  1. Well Folks, The Greatly known Mr. Steve Jobs, retired CEO of Apple Corporation passed away today at 5PM. What a shame the cancer had to take him only 3 weeks into retiring from many years of making all of us reputable products. You will always be remembered, you are greatly honored for making such a successful operation out of your corporation. RIP, i will always be an Apple fan
  2. For anybody that has either a single 15" LV4 or 2 LV3 12's laying around, let me know what you have.. Even anything close to that. Planning on purchasing sometime next week, just trying to get my thoughts together. I can cover shipping costs.
  3. Lol, well lucky for me i saved about $150 on what i had wanted by purchasing from someone here, by posting this thread.. Lazy or not, i would rather save $150 and help someone out. Thanks for your opinions tho
  4. Or, someone that has them lieing around trying to sell them, could sell them to me too? This forum is much more convenient than contacting a local dealer ?
  5. Looking for two 15 inch baskets, two lv4 recone kits + XL coils.. Let me know what you have
  6. This is what i had read on a forum elsewhere. Im just debating on if it would be worth gathering everything to do it, however i do have plenty of time.. and would like to have something out of the ordinary. Unfortunately, i wouldent know where to start nit picking for parts.
  7. not yet . sorry i misread that . Erm. I shall do some research. I just figured out ive got enough space to build a box with aero's to do 8 10's, i think 8 level 4's would do me quite well. Anyone trying to get rid of an AQ20? lol
  8. I was curious about level 3 8's not 18's. thanks for the great info tho!
  9. Hey guys, i have a few questions Currently running 2 lvl 3 12's on an AQ 2200D. Im ready to start planning / working toward my next setup. Everybody and there mother that i know screams in my face to go with 15's, or a single 18... something large in size with alot of power. Well, im in the mood to shock some people, turn some heads and make people wow over some small subs. Unfortunately, due to limited space in the back of my HHR, i dont have 'A-lot' of room. Being that im still in warranty with Chevy, i have no intentions on ripping out interior pieces. A friend of mine that is quite knowledgeable with designing enclosures and myself were playing with Sketchup last night, and according to my measurements and specs of the DC lvl2 8's, or SA 8's, i could easily install eight of them without issue.. I would of course worry about powering them once i get the real math figured out. I want to go all out. Ive been wanting to rebuild my 12's for some time.. just to do it.. So here are my questions seeing as i want to take it a bit further this time. Seeing as that i can fit 8 8's, and have intention on taking that route.. What are the possibilities of nit picking hard/soft DC parts and building a 'custom' level 3 8 with a 3 inch coil over the 2? Is it possible? If so.. i want to make it happen.. Otherwise, it will be the battle of going with either the SA 8's, or the lvl 2 8's. Let me know your thoughts everyone.. Thanks!
  10. Hey guys! Wow, what a fantastic transaction i had with Ao1FTW. After dealing with what i dealth with while trying to buy the last guys product, i was a bit skeptical on trying again even with another user, but everything went super smooth. He let me know he had what i wanted, made an offer, i accepted, i payed and sent a shipping label.. he had it dropped off at UPS at 8AM the next morning and now my DC 12's are flexing my car the way they should. Thanks again Ao1FTW! Highly recommended!!
  11. Essentially the only 4 gauge left in play would be linking my two batteries, and the lead to the amp.. I would find a solid chassis ground and run a straight shot from the alt back to the primary bat with 0, with 1500ish watts i think i should be fine, however my battle is deciding on if i want the saz1500 or the aq1200, however there is a 10 day wait on the saz so im aiming more toward the aq1200
  12. Unfortunately, yes i did set it by ear, and i consistently played with it.. watching the heat, voltage etc, and just below 3/4's seems where it wanted to be. I am waiting for an oscope that i ordered, which will obviously help me alot as far as tuning. As far as ditching the BRZ goes, im either looking at a sundown saz-1500 v2, or the AQ1200d.. after contemplating it for days
  13. Thanks for your input guys.. The big 3 is definitely getting done, and i plan to swap out the stock delco with a bigger kinetic or an XS once funding becomes available when i decide to expand into amping my highs etc. As far as going with bigger wire, right now i have Knu 4AUG running parralel between the two batteries, then a lead going into the amp which is the biggest the BRZ1200 takes. When i do the big3, i plan to do it with 0, however would i be safe leaving the 4 gauge in place and just use a distribution box to clamp in the 0 gauge with what i currently have setup?
  14. Looking for an AQ2200, DC2.0k, or something you would find to be equivalent. Let me know what you have!
  15. Gah, so here it goes! Well, I decided to go with my first DC build in my brandy new '11 HHR. I managed to get hold of 2x lvl 3 12's. As far as powering them goes, Im running (Temporariliy) a Hifonics BRZ1200.1. Behind it, i've got my stock 650CCA delco, paired up with Kinetic HC600; with Knu 4 AUG wire. In the HHR, the battery is located in the rear from the factory; wired exactly like the Cobalt's are. I am woking my way into doing a BIG3, however, i find myself in a nutshell with the problem that i seem to be having. I have spoke to quite a few tech's and gotten their opinions, but i would like to hear a few more.. Here's the issue Idling, with no load.. my voltage rests at about a 14.6. While under load, with the gain cranked about 3/4's way, i will drop to about a 12.2-12.6. If i attempt to feed the subs anything more than i am now, the amp will over heat and go into protect mode within minutes of it being under load, obviously from the drop. I know that Hifonic's amps are your more 'budget', 'less efficient' amp, how ever.. i guess you could say i got excited, stuck to my guns on buying a hifonics cause i had used them in the past without issue.. and find myself in the nutshell im in with an inefficient amp for the power i have to give it. Fortunately for me, im still within my return period for this BRZ. So now the battle is to ONE, choose the best amp for my application, and TWO.. make sure i can stabize this voltage so im not hurting the 'new' amp of choice. I have been skeptical on which amp to go with, but if i HAVE to purchase brand new; it seems that it has boiled down to the AQ1200D. However, i would LOVE to run a DC 2.0K, or an AQ2200D, unfortunately i just dont have the cash at the moment, nor will until after Jan. of next year when yearend bonus's roll in.. and i just dont want to wait that long! So i am telling myself that if i take an AQ1200D over the BRZ1200.1, its obviously going to be a more efficient amp. I am begining to believe that (obviously) doing a BIG 3 will help the situation, however i think the amp has more so to do with it. So, should i take that route? Any better suggestions that would be effective and cost friendly? Thanks guys!!!
  16. I never forced you to anything, nor acted as you HAD to sell it to me. I could give a crap less if you sell it to me or not, fortunately for me i already found another one. What pissed me off is you had the ignorance to sit there and put me under the impression that you were going to move foward with the sale, then all a sudden give me some imature bullshit feedback just like the one i just quoted. Cool, so you've been here since you graduated high school. Wow, your a man now! Im glad you sold the amp, and i apologize to all the decent members of this forum for them having to read this pitty. However, just because you have alot of text saved in the SQL database of this forum doesnt mean you should be able to talk down on somebody, let alone screw them over for no apparent reason.
  17. Hello all, Sure im 'new' here.. and im trying to gain myself some respect from the higher ranked members by being as considerate and helpfull as possible. TeejayBee had offered a AQ 2220D amp for $280. I had made him an offer that i would give $270 and provide full shipping costs, by billing my corporate UPS account that i use for my marine business. He accepted the offer however he seemed skeptical about the transaction, so i gave him a bit more information on how the shipping process would work, which would have been as simple as him checking his email, printing the label, and droping the amp off at a local UPS store. I had CASH in hand, willing to instant send via paypal or even money order, right then and there. After promptly asking him if he would like to close the deal, and explaining to him i NEEDED this amplifier for a local comp in my home town (was ready to PAY for over-night shipping w/ Early AM drop off), he 'bumped' his thread as if i showed absolutely no interest in the amplifier. I again messaged him agravated, letting him know i had alot of desire in purchasing the amp and sending the funds right then and their along with the pre paid shipping label, making the transaction as easy going as could be, if anything it would have been easier than him delivering it locally. His most recent and final reply was "Dude go find another one. I dont want to deal with selling it to someone that is not known around here with less than 4 posts, plus i have someone willing pay $300 for it." I will gladly back up everything i just stated with screen shots of the entire PM conversation, as im sure admins can view it. IMO, whether you have 5000 posts or 5 posts, just because im new with the organization, why should i be looked down upon? Im sorry but that was probably the most judgemental, rude, un-professional 'attempt' of a simple transaction i have ever encountered. Feel free to rate this highly, or look at me like i have two heads.. This org deserves to know about things like this. Regards John
