  1. is your truck extended cab or regular cab? i dont understand why you would go through all the trouble to fiberglass when you could just build a box that fits, and then secure it to your truck and with a port and if you make it big enough(depending on you tunning desires) youll make that lil mtx hit!
  2. Thats what i thought to? Distortion isnt bad at all in some ways.. But clipping is very bad! Its only when a amp is cutting the sine wave thats not distortion its clipping.. Thanks for your input(:
  3. I see what ur saying now.. But lets say the output on a mixer was clipping and it was recorded as a clipping sine wave.. And i played it through my system it wouldnt be considered clipping then? If so why?
  4. so yall are saying that "yes" the distorted music can damage your system? if its bad enough?
  5. thanks for your help and i asked another friend about it and he said this amp is really cheap and it was constructed cheaply and poor so.. he said it probably blew alot of components inside the amp so im just gonna use that one for parts and get me a better amp=) agian thanks for your help! btw i have an old peavy cs800 amp im just gonna use that one to power my subs now, that thing is old but its a power house!
  6. if your subs are bottoming out its mostly likely your port, its too big.. you need to cut down on the size of the port and then you can decide on the length of the port. when i say cut down on the size im talking about the opening of the vent. the length of the port is what determines you tuning of the box i dont think(: and you also might be driving them to hard but i doubt it
  7. Can distortion from an mp3/ cd etc. Damage a system since distorted music is being played?
  8. btw you might want to put soem type of sealer between the enclosure and the plate amp if your not adding carpet.. when i built my sub it leaked and was very annoying! i found that weather stripping did the trick:D
  9. hey guys i have this samson s700 amp and a friend blew something in it. i dont kknow what is blown i dont really understand how amps operate im learning. so do yall think that it can be fixed? if so, what would i need to fix? agian it was bridged to a 4ohm sub and the ohm load min is 8ohm when its bridged soo.. yea any help would be greatly appriciated(:
