Trying to get louder with SA-8's
Twostrokeking replied to Twostrokeking's topic in Subwoofers / Enclosures
SO how would be the best way to get an accurate volume? there are humps under the seat. My idea is to build a regular square box because I know i can build and tune that accurate then compare the sound to my current box. -
Alright, well as you know I am running 2 sa-8's in a ported box which I believe is ported at 33 hz. I had a hard time finding the volume. I build it kind of weird and there is a few air leaks. when I play rack city the subs will move but not be able to hear anything but the air from the subs. When I get the cash i'd like to rebuild the box with 3/4" mdf and glass all joints. 45 degree all corners. and just over all make it perfect. Will a better box do better for my subs?? how much are the air leaks effecting the subs and the sound? If you were to do the same build I did what would you do? square port? aero? where would you place it? where would you place the subs? and most of all how the hell do I get an accurate volume out of it. Thanks!

I searched for 10 minutes looking on here and cant find anything. I see people covering every panel with deadner and no gaps and then I see people using small pieces here and there. I just ordered some deadner but only 12 SQ feet as it is all I can afford right now. Where is the best place to put it?? full pieces or do I cut small ones?? thanks BTW its going in my 95' k1500

Well as many of you know I have suede coming for my headliner. Before I slap the suede up there I would love to put a piece of deadener over the sunroof mechanism. Let me know what you have and a price shipped to 84663. Also will spray glue stick to the deadener? I will be gluing the suede over it. Thanks!!

no offense but that's a pretty stupid thing to say considering the entire industry is built around doing work for people who can't do it themselves I wasn't trying to offend anyone, I said that straight forward. But for someone to pay someone ( a ridiculous amount) to do a build and then not be pleased with it, its kind of his own fault. I agree what happened was wrong, but if you want something done right do it yourself. I am all for people helping each other.
