  2. thanks for all the help guys i may well hell I will be back with more questions trust me on that one
  3. first off I'm blonde so everything is confusing to me ok Both amps are 1 ohm stable, both amps can be strapped together using a simple cable that allows you to control all the audio settings from one amp the sub i bought has dual 1 ohm coils if i blow the sub and replace the cone with a dual 2ohm coils your saying that i can do this and the amps will see 1 ohms each this is from the kicker website hopefully this doesnt mean im screwed STRAPPING TWO KX.1 AMPS(DOUBLE POWER) By using a Mono plug (available at Radio Shack) you can run two KX.1 amplifiers into one woofer. Minimum impedance 4 ohm for KX400.1, KX600.1 and 2 ohm for the KX1200.1. When strapped the Secondary amplifier controls are bypassed. See Tech. Brief for more info. on this configuration.
  4. I have recently acquired a soloX 12 dual 1ohm sub the first generation of the sub and I have 2 2004 series kx1200.1 amps "that are 1ohm stable each" to run it, now the question IF I blow the 1ohm cone and have to replace it with a dual 2ohm cone "since they don't make the dual 1ohm cone anymore" is there a way to wire the amps or sub so I can still use the same amps strapped together for a total of almost 3000 watts even though the new sub would only drop to 1ohm with both coils wired together. I just don't want to have to replace the amps IF I blow the sub, hope I gave you all the info needed as I am drawing a blank and I don't want to blow a set of amps and sub trying to wire them up if I happen to blow the speaker. FYI I haven't had a system this big in a LONG TIME almost 15 years back when Phoenix Gold was the sh*t and most equipment was REALLY American Made not just American assembled and Alma Gates was tearing up the lanes in her PPI Bronco , so I have a BIG learning curve to catch up to you folks on here, so be gentle when you reply thanks 2004 VW GTI 3cube ported box "still needs to be built" 220amp HOA 2 optima Redtop batteries o gauge Mobile Spec throughout the car 2 20 farad caps 1 Kx600.4 2 Kx1200.1 Thanks again Stephen
