and with the 1500 would 8 gauge wire be ok?
Speaker Wire: Yes
Power Wire: NO
-
Not if you set your gains properly, and I've heard Type R's can take 1k each, but I'd recommend a 1500 on both of them just to be safe.

It's up to you man, but don't turn this into a VS Thread though
If you're feeling brave

Sweet, I have the same amp
Though I have it wired at 2 ohms on my CVR, I'm afraid to wire it down to 1 ohm.
just curious, if you weren't afraid to wire it down to 1 ohm how would you do it ? LOL
good question
I'll try it out one day, and see how it handles it, I just like to follow posted amp limits just to be safe.

To the OP, sounds like you're looking to do an SQL system where you want a lot of bass but want to achieve good sound quality as well.
For the SQ aspect of it, you should probably go towards the SQ section of the forum for some tips, and you should also talk to Cablguy too, since he's all for SQ, and he does it very well.
I hope you achieve what you're looking for.

Did you upgrade your alternator as well or you using stock?
-
this may be a dumb question but what is that?
The DD-1 is a useful tool released by Steve Meade, and his engineer friends to detect distortion from the amp, and headunit.
Edit: $149.99
-
You can correctly tune your amp by either using an O-Scope or a DD-1(better,cheaper option) to make sure you're not clipping.
Doing it by ear is bad idea cause the human ear can't detect less than 3% distortion on bass.
-
"Clipping is a form of waveform distortion that occurs when an amplifier is overdriven and attempts to deliver an output voltage or current beyond its maximum capability. Driving an amplifier into clipping may cause it to output power in excess of its published ratings."
This is what clipping looks like on a O-scope

If you have no other source of playing music, besides radio, then I say go get the ipod, though I do have to say, the ipod classic is a lot more durable than the itouch.
If you do have other sources of playing music, then get the sub.

I have yet to find a woman that has a good looks:smarts ratio.
Those are rare

Reminds me of the fat question, you can never win in that situation.
-
Maybe build a new box for the Kenwoods since the current one you have looks like a prefab.
Edit: Sound deadening is a good idea too

Audio-Technica
I own a pair of ATH-M50's and they sound great, though they are built for monitoring also.

Even though it's the wrong section to be posting here, it seriously sounds like it's going to be a sweet build, get to it man

Here's another example
-
"Double bass" sounds muddy on a sealed enclosure, it sounds alot better on ported.
-
Well, just giving an example
-
Yeah, a crappy sub in a proper enclosure will sound better than a good sub in a bad enclosure.
My CVR12, which is a decent sub, ever since I built a proper enclosure for it, it sounds great on rap yet it can also do the breakdown from Asking Alexandria very well, and the CVR isn't really for sound quality.
-
Depends on the enclosure
-
They are good for the price, and they do rated.
-
Kenwoods are good too
