  1. I had a smoking problem too, even though it's not really cigarettes, it's more towards Blacks, and Cigars but it's still a bad habit that I've had since I was 17, so for like 2 years. I stopped for 2 months, then I had one Black on Saturday, so not proud of myself, and I'm starting over now :|

The thing I'm gonna start doing that you should start doing too now, is keeping a log of how much money that is saved, and then when I look it at, I give myself a reward like a new videogame or stuff for my car because instead of spending money for smoking, I get something better and worthwhile.

Another thing I do to fight the urge is buy these cool-aid packets that are 25 cents each for a gallon, and a huge bag of sweetener(not Splenda, the walmart brand) good for 5 gallons(if you use 1 cup per packet), for like $5 at Wal-Mart, so they have no calories, very sweet, and it helps fight my eating and smoking addiction. I also make lots of espresso too due to my mom, who switched her nicotine addiction to caffeine like 20 years ago, so that kinda helps too, though I can't handle caffeine that well compared to my mom since I'm young, so jittery problems sometimes :|.

  2. Yeah, my 1st post seemed harsh too, but I like the older stuff from Digital Mystiks, Coki, Benga, Kromestar, Distance, Cluekid, and Skream.

I like the mainstream artists too like Bassnectar(especially Basshead, and Red Step), Datsik, Excision, Downlink, Nero, Cookie Monsta, and of course Flux Pavilion too.

  3. 6 ohms(dvc's in parallel, subs in series), .6667 ohms (dvc's in parallel, subs in parallel), 2.667 ohms (dvc's in series, subs in parallel) 1.333 ohms (2 dvc's in series, 1 dvc in parallel, subs in parallel) .8889 ohms (2 dvc's parallel, 1 dvc in series, subs in parallel) 3 ohms (good for JL amps) ( dvc's in parallel, 2 subs in parallel, and then put them in series with the 3rd one)

Weird numbers come when you go in triple.

  4. I got a Kicker CVR12 like new for $60 from Value Pawn, but that's about it, only other thing of interest they were selling were 2 JL W6 12's in a box for $700, but that was $700(that's a lot for me), and 2 DB 15's with ported box with amp for $279. Everything else was either crap, or mainstream stuff that was overpriced cause its a famous brand, like Alpine.

  5. If I were you, I would keep the subs, but build a better enclosure for them to sound better( and maybe even louder too), and buy some new door speakers, whether coaxials or components so your mids and highs at least sound better, and maybe a new amp for the subs too since the amp that came with them is only feeding half their rms. Since you say you're on a budget, go look around at craigslist or maybe even pawn shop cause you'll be surprised, I once got a 12' Kicker 07CVR like new for $60 at a pawn shop.

  6. Yeah, saving for a couple of years will do you wonders, and there's always new stuff coming out.

If you're wanting to spend money for a sub at home though, I recommend looking at Parts Express for a crate amp, and designing/building a box yourself or you can buy a box, and screw it on with extra wood as a frame for it, but get a 1.5 cu ft ported box for that particular RE sub.

A crate amp is safer to use because it has it's own internal power source, it's built to have a clean signal, and you can simply just plug it in the wall. Plus you don't need alot of power for home use, if you feed that RE sub it's recommended power, your neighbors will hate you lol.

Oh yeah, another advice, never buy from Best Buy, they overprice alot of things, or sell you shit for the same price of something good you can get somewhere else.

  7. Well, when it comes to headphones, you have to take a listen to them yourself because everyone hears differently, and some may say that they sound amazing, and others may say they sounds bad. Like I have a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M50 headphones, and my friend took a listen to them and ordered a pair paying full msrp, while another friend said they had no bass, and wasn't loud enough.

It's all up to your ears, and also whether they are comfortable to you too.

  8. My friend has a pair of Vintage speakers, the Genesis Model 210 from 1981, and they have an 8' woofer, and a 10' passive radiator, and they sound really good bass-wise. The PR does really help with extending the bass notes, and it looks cool when the speakers flex cause the woofer moves one way, while the PR moves the opposite way.

It would be interesting to see a system build involving Passive Radiators

  9. I was driving one day, and this song came up on my ipod, and I was surprised by the bass this song has, not very heavy, but extremely relaxing, though I have no clue what instrument was used to make the bassline, I'm thinking bass guitar (I'm really bad identifying instruments).

Yes I know this is a video game song, but Nobuo Uematsu makes some really beautiful music.
