Well if I get 3 they sure as hellll aren't going in a prefab box. Haha, I'll prolly build a sealed at 6-7.5^ft or a ported at 6^ft.
-
Well yeah I mean, everything is fine but they're stuck in a shitty prefab ported. But I still want to buy another CVR . I know two can get loud.
-
AP15001d.
-
my friend has a pair what are you willing to trade ill let him know.
Well I already have a pair of D4 07 CVR 12s, brand new. They aren't loud enough for me, so I wanna run like 3 or 4. I don't want to pay too much for the sub or 2.
-
I'm lookin for another CVR 12 to add to the two that I already have. I have two 07 dual 4 ohm CVR 12's. I might even do a possible trade for two different 12s ? or 15s or something.

Duck tape. Duh.
Edit: Gorilla tape.
um no. dont listen to this guy. not gunna put him down like i want........ but like beat2deth said press on that part of the trunk n see if thats it. then (since you already know it is) pop the trunk and put your hand inside the trunklid and feel if you can reach that part n i would use great stuff and fill it up...... its cheap n expands a TON. definitly will stop a rattle. downside is it gets very messy.
im sure theres other alternatives but thats cheap n i bet that works.
my 2 cents...

oh btw never use duct tape (yes its spelled duct) or gorilla tape on any build as it looks horrible and its the hackers way out. (no offense to anyone) BUT thats something i would see done in the hood.again no offense to anyone
Whoaaa, cool your jets turbo. I was being sarcastic.

Who said anything about 5 CVRs !? Lol. But thank you guys !

I've got 2 dual 4 ohm.

I'm looking for a used amp that will push my two CVR 12s beautifully, and possibly 3 later on down the road. Something of good quality prefferably, and I can't spend over 130. Any help ?

Price dropped to $170 shipped. Great amp people jump on this.
145 shipped ?

Okay. So port width is 14.5, width is 1.5. and length is 7.55 and that gives me a port tune of 35 hz. Is that right ?
well like i said before, you need to look at port area and port area range. obviously, you want the port area number to be somewhere in between the two port area range figures given.
Okay, so I just got the proper figures for a 35.6 hz tuning, and got the port area in the range I need. It's H14.5 by W3.2 by L23. Now what ?
you sure you're going to be able to cut wood precisely to the tenth? just stick with half inch intervals. it will make your life so much easier.
Right on, hey thank you by the way for helping me out. Next I just need to understand how to assemble it.

Update; I got the Torres calculator, and I found out what would gimmie 4^ft. 16 by 34 by 16.5. The only thing I don't understand now is the port length and width and such.
i assume the height is 16". so do 14.5" for the port height, put 3 in for # of common port walls, and then play with the port width and length till you get the desired tuning you want. just MAKE SURE. ill repeat, since honestly 99% of people that use this program forget this part, to make sure you have between 12 and 16 square inches of port per cubic foot. it tells you on the lower right of the calc, "port area" and "port area range".
I'll be honest, I'm a little confused. Is it measuring it in inches or feet ?
everything is in inches and cubic feet.

Kicker website says between 1.75-2.25 cubes, so probably around 2^ft at about 35hz should work for you, download torres calculator and play around with it till you find something around there that you can fit, or post your max dimensions and I'm sure you'll get a few responses.
So I want a final box of 4^ft? I have two, and are there like tutorials on how to use the calculator or something ?
Yeah my bad, I did it for one, so your right since you have 2. What type of vehicle is it going in. If you have the dimensions you can fit in your vehicle post them and I'll try doing something for you really quick.
It's can't be taller than 17, no wider than 34, no deeper than 19.

what kind of music do you listen to? frankly, depending on the woofer, high 30hz is a high tuning. anything in the 40's for daily music is way way too high.
edit: to add on what lbox said, make SURE you read the instructions thoroughly on the calculator.
Well I listen to a little bit of everything, probably 75 percent rap and 25 rock. So I guess like a tuning between 36 or 37 ? I just have NO idea how to use the torres calculator and don't wanna mess anything up.
read the instructions on the program man, its really quite simple. dont let all the words and numbers confuse you. you just have to go about it slowly. and i'd probably tune to like 35hz
I went on the Kicker website and grabbed the specs for height width and length from the compVR sub box thats designed for them. 17 by 16 by 32. So all I would need to do is design a port for it ?

I own both of these and I'm wondering which are better? They seem to have the same specs, I know nothing about sound systems lol. These are the subs :

P.S. I'll be running this amp :
http://www.amazon.com/Hifonics-Brutus-BXI1210D-D-Class-Amplifier/dp/B001R7VPGS
I also have an alpine MRX-M100 http://www.crutchfield.com/S-VePp9zK1b5u/p_500MRXM100/Alpine-MRX-M100.html
Man, both of those subs are exactly the same. I mean, the only legit difference is the looks, and basket design. Same motor and construction. I own the '07's personally just because I think they look a bit cooler. And of course, grab the sub that has the right coil you want. I have two dual 4 ohm, and have each wired to two ohms a peice.

So I'm stuck with a garbage pre-fab ported box that seems as though it's tuned reallly high. I want something tuned a little low, but nothing toooo low. Like mid 30s or low 40s ? I'm not sure. I have two Kicker CVR 12's, the '07 model if that makes a difference. But yeah, I have NO idea how to design one or even how to go about it. All help is very appreciated. Thank you !

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, But I believe an eq will just give you more control over everything right ? If your system already sounds super good to you, no need to add anything else.
Kicker CVR 12 ?
