  1. I'm over here w/o the wife so I'm slways down to do anythin audio/car related.. Hopefully I'll be more involved in the local scene by then.. Should be good times :drinks:

Sounds like a plan. I been looking at cars to build something in. Perhaps we can find some audio events when I get there and get something built. I will need some help building also if you along with anyone else wants to help!

  2. The Forester is more of a crossover..drives like a car 2.0T.. There are shows..itz mostly drift and performance related from what I hear..but there are comps...its a matter or getting with the right people to know when and where.. Wich I have not done yet.. Im either working or messing with my car.

I look forward to hearing it in person late summer! So the forrester is a SUV I see thats a good thing, because thats what I will be looking for when I get there! Looks like I am bringing some audio with me, so I can hit the ground running! Nice score also! Any shows at all on the island?

  3. misunderstood.. now I'm with it thanks :drinks:

net volume goes way up to 14.10 and tuning drops to 23.73.? and I'm aiming for 32hz and at or just under 12 cubes..

leave the port opening 5" from the back wall & extend it up 2" to keep the tuning u want... :pardon:

moving the port like matt said making it an L shape should never change the tunning or air space your doing something wrong

like i said if you keep it the way it is you will be robbing yourself of some serious output you have a 5.5 port opening make sure there is at least 5.5 inches of opening everywere on the port from all the walls

you do want to be loud right?

  4. i lose one inch in the port entrance.. because i want consistent surface below subs.. not a fair trade?? ..unless your saying the 45 will eat another 1 1/2"??

it looks like the were the port ends in the box will just be 3 inches of the back wall you want that to be just as far off the back wall as wide as your port is whats the point of havint 5.5 inches of port opening if its choked by 3 inches of opening off the back wall

  5. you looking at width.. the port runs length wise.. gap is 4.5" so lost an inch. I was trying to keep the area directly bellow the woofers a consistent flat surface. no sure if it really matters though

unless im looking at this wrong..the port is 28 long on the side that is 31 long correct? if so id make so the end of the port is the width of the port away from the back of the box...if that makes sense

  6. you sir are getting old.. but it really wouldn't be smart to tear a new one of those up...nice rides. i have a 11 Edge back in the states and love it

Sorry for the teaser, I am trading my car in on this as soon as they can find one for me. I am not planning on putting a system in it yet. I may put a few 8s in it in the future, but I am buying it for travel purposes and for the extra room that I will have in it vs a car. Wouldnt make much sense to start putting big subs in it.

Now I have thought about having a small off season system with maybe a pair of 12s and maybe a 3.5k. The stock audio actually sounds pretty good, but a nice 4 channel and maybe some coaxials could me a possibility.
