  1. grats on the buy, i have a 96 model holden apollo, they have the same shape as the camry, not yours if its a 99 :P, lots of trunk room, i have 2 12" in myn, i can probably fit 2 15"s :P, good luck with the build.

if your 16, like me :P. take out the backseats and jam it with subs, as u have no family that needs to go into the back, im gettin 4 15"'s or 2 or 3 18"s in my back seats, more then likely a wall, then the amps in back, i have 1/4 of the money saved up, might get a new battery today with that, its all gotta be bought sometime, anyone recommend the battery i should buy, and an alternator that fits inside a 1996 holden apollo

  2. I would go with the TermLab because the numbers done on a termlab are not questioned in general.. so if you actually do a really nice number it will always be questioned unless it is on a atermlab.. also get ahold of Angelo and see about the shows he does down under..

    later

    Doug

cheers mate, so there is no stores here that sell term-lab? or have to get it shipped from USA?

  3. anyone from Australia, how do we measure our spl over here, like wat are the names of some of the products, and where can u buy them from, its my bday soon and lookin and gettin my own "term-lab" but cant find anywhere around Australia that sells them, cos i dont know wat im lookin for (the name). i looked up term-lab and its all USA sites.

  4. u r correct amatt

most subs have somewhere in the area of 85 db 1w/1m to 95 db 1w/1m

that is the sensitivity of the sub, if the sub has a higher sensitivity then it will be louder with less power but most likely wont be able to handle as much power as a lower sensitivity sub

ive seen dj party equipment that has like 98-100 db 1w/1m that only take like 500 watts max but its loud

so your trying to say that, my sub has the higher DB reading but not very powerful, like i listen 2 music and on those short bass beats i feel my chest move

  5. its really not that hard...say each sub displaces .1 cubic foot for example...

    your external dimensions are 15"h 25"w 20"deep...

    subtract 1.5" from everything for internal dimensions....13.5"h 23.5"w 18.5"d

    multiply: 13.5*23.5*18.5 = 5869.125

    divide: 5869.125/1728 = about 3.4cubes

    subtract sub displacement: 3.4-.2 = 3.2cubes net

lol im extremely new 2 car audio, so i dont have a clue wat u jsut said and im aussie so i dont have a tape measure with inches :P, sorry bro

  6. whats the displacement of the subs? you just gotta play with some numbers....get some rough external dimensions...then subtract 1.5" from all of them (assuming ur using .75"wood)....multiply h x w x d...then take that number and divide it by 1728...that will give you your internal volume....just make sure sure you have the added volume to take into account sub displacement...

loool, heeps confusing, oh well, yeah like u said ill just get a couple of hundred $$$ worth of mdf and just make a couple of different designs :P whichever 1 works the best i keep, and the rest go on ebay :P

  7. Can any of you help give me plans or just tell me how to build a custom box for 2 12" Infinitys, this is the description of the sub box, i greatly appreciate it, right now i just made a sealed, box , dont know the cubic inches or anything like that all i know is its a sealed box that holds 2 12" subs lol thanks in advance, (really wanna get it louder):

    Diameter: 12" (300mm)

    Sensitivity @ 2.83V/1m: 93DB

    Power Handling (RMS): 300W

    Power Peak (peak): 1200W

    Frequency Response: 23Hz- 400Hz

    Impedance: 4 ohms

    Voice coil diameter: 2" (51mm)

    Mounting Depth: 129mm

    Overall Diameter: 316mm

    Cut-out Diameter: 284mm

Sealed box volume: Vbox=125ft cubed or that lil 3 above 1.25Ft (35.40 liters)
