i have a 2005 subaru impreza. i think the stock alt is 120a.
With stock alt, big 3, AGM batt, and multiple grounds, what is the most amount of watts YOU guys would feel safe runing on daily music?
-
.....its mazda2284, its his area
-
i want some! Who makes them? would PSI custom make them?
-
get a dual 2 ohm, run it at 1 ohm.
-
ebay, shouldnt be more than 280 for a pair
-
okay, so i run myh door speakers off my head unit, i do not have them amped. My EQ oh the HU is very extensive. I can set the HPF and LPF for each door speaker. On each speaker, i keep the bass at 0 (nothing below 150hz), mid at 3, and treble at 8. The subwoofer will be run through a separate pre-out.
As long as i dont run any bass through my door speakers, do i really need to "set EQ to flat" when i add a sub amp and use my DD-1? Theres so many different EQ settings that it takes about 20 or 30 minutes to set it up the way I have it.

that i have always been satisfied with running my door speakers off the head unit? gets loud and clean enough for me...

Are you guys really trying to suggest a guy who doesn't know what he's doing to feed two SAs 4,000 watts?
i 2nd that
-
i didnt mention the risk of fire....
-
Couldn't the subs get ruined if its too low?
Or vice versa?
the subs wouldnt, but you could blow fuses and/or fry the amp.
-
im not knocking anything, he came here asking for advice to sound better, and i am giving him that very advice. thanks for your concern, have a good night.

"messing with the ohms" is one of the most important parts of car audio. why would you want 4 ohms? with that amp, youre aiming at 2 ohms...
-
OHHH YEAH, and it sounds to me like you are wired at 1 ohm when that amp isnt stable at 1. Definitly use the boss, and if it is DVC, wire it + + and - - to the amp bridged
-
i wouldnt even bother using the soundstream, itll probably just junk up your sound quality.
Polk is known for very good sound quality product. My buddy has the same amp, and it sounded amazing on Four 10s.
Turn the LPF to 80 or 100 (should make louder), turn gain to around 60%(ish), turn the boost switch to 0db, phase to 0.
and its really not good to have mis-matching subs. at all. Get new subs.
-
well, i dont think you'd get much sq from a boss, and i expect it's in a store-bought box which is even worse. I would give it a try, wire it to 2 ohms if you can, and if it doesnt sound as good, build yourself a new box.
no offense, but your system sounds like a mess. save up and buy some nice new equipment.
but for now, GO PORTED AND TURN THE GAIN DOWN!
-
gain is too high. if you want louder, go ported. IMO, a low tuned ported will destroy a sealed box in both SPL and SQ. Then you can turn the gain down and save your subs.

pa880....is that the polk monoblock, 2 ohm stable?

its "Fucking Die 2" by Skrillex
-
I KNOW THIS SONG, let me browse itunes quick and ill let u know
-
mehh, the XD line is really not much better than an Alpine typeR or rockford P3.
If it was a TNT, HD, VFL, XFL, then you wanna buy to recone. But, then again, it's not my money. I'm sure PSI could make that sub sound and look really nice.
amp suggestion
