  1. i did...many times. i wouldnt come here trying to waste anybodys time by not reading the manual first. One of the tracks says "use for a louder system", the other says "use for a compromise" or "use for sound quality".

The sound quality track isnt nearly loud enough for my likings, the "compromise" is alright, but i feel like my amp isnt pushing the subs to thier fullest potential, and i'm afraid the "loud system" track is giving too much distortion to my everyday listening music.

  2. i really don't know which one to use for my subwoofer amp. I've tried all of them, but with each different one, the gain seeting is different. I mainly listen to metal or dubstep. I want my system to be as loud as possible without distortion, but im pretty sure the music i listen to is the same dB as the track that says "for a louder system, use track..."

  3. ok so im buying a new car its a 08 dodge avenger sxt. and my 18 inch hdc3 will have to be sold saddly cuz i need a little trunk space lol. anyways im thinking about getting 6 8 inch RE REX8D4s mainly because i have a buddy that thinks size of subs matter and i wanna prove him wrong. anyone ever use these things? and do ya think itll be worth the time and money? thanks

i would definitly fuck with some 8's. my buddy just did 1 skar vvx8 in his standard cab f150 and it bangs like a 12. if i were you, id grab 2+ sundown SA 8s.

and let me know when you do, id love to meet up for a demo.

  4. At 2 ohm IMO rise would be at least around 4 ohm that puts you at alot less power... And you mentioned doubling power.. In a perfect world you would gain 3 db but it's not perfect so I think your underestimating this little powerhouse.. Try a lower imp if possible

i used to run a pair of type R 12's @ 1ohm on this amp. never got the chance to get it metered, but if i had to guess, i'd say 142ish. i just really dont understand, everyone says some shit like "every 10amps of fusing is 100 watts"... this amp only had 120 amps of fusing, and tbh, my buddys Autotek AT2000 (1krms supposedly) is just as loud, if not louder. That's almost shameful...

  5. I clamped mine by taking one amp and hooking it up at .5 ohm on both dual 2 subs, rise was to 1.2xx ohm and it did 18xx watts.

Maybe your seeing a imp rise to around 3ohm and are just not getting the power you think it should do. How is your voltage doing and I'm assuming it's wired to 1ohm

i was at 2 ohms actually. voltage was decent, not sure what it was, but i was hovering around 2,000rpm before and during the burp.

  6. Crescendo bc2000 is what I would do....and if you are serious about car audio do yourself a favor and get a quality h/o alternator (Singer, DC power), do the big 3 in 1/0, get a new front battery, then at least 1 run of 1/0 to the back....

Also you said your AB 100.1 didn't do anywhere near 1800 watts....how do you know did you clamp it? do you have any idea what impedance rise is?

no i didnt clamp it. i used to run a Rockford T500.1bdcp (birthsheet read 800@1) and this amp got me only 2.7dB louder.. Plus i was running a single Rockford P3 12, and i dont think it would stand a chance on 1800 watts.

  7. I actually clamped a vfl 100.1 I had a few years ago to do 1800 watts.. I had two on sc lvl 4 18s w 5 coils and it pushed em to the point of getting smelly quite a bit on good clean power

lol im guessing this was probably before they were made in korea. yeah mine def didnt do any 1800watts. it was more than enough power for what i had, but not nearly enough for the subs I plan on getting.

  8. right now i'm running an american bass 100.1. its rated at 1500watts but im pretty sure its overrated. it only has 120amps of fusing. im looking to upgrade to an amp that will do a LEGIT 1500-2000 watts, without being more than 400 bucks. i will be using a stock alternator, so im not looking for more than 2k rms. How are the Hifonics Brutus amps? they seem pretty good for the money. any suggestions?
