  1. 13.3volts to 14.4volts isn't very steady at all. I stay at 14.2-14.4volts constant. I don't have voltage drop until I draw upwards of 250amps and it drops down to the float charge of my batteries (13.3volts). You're running the BB1400.1 right now right? It looks like that amp has equivalent fusing to the saz-1500 (4x40 fuses) so they should both draw around the same. I've never used a sundown amp before, but i'm guessing that it will sound a lot cleaner and louder. You have a stock alt? I made a mistake. I was getting 13.3 when I had my old(shuriken bt-35)under the hood. I'm staying pretty steady with the Optima under the hood now on my stock alt. I still waiting to see if I will need a H/O alt after I get the SAZ1500D. I know it would be much better to have one, but i'm not just rolling in money like I want too right now.
  2. How well will it be at .5ohm? Not too many amps can handle the kind of load on a daily bases.
  3. I'm running a Shuriken BT-120 in the trunk with a Optima Red Top under the hood. I also have 0ga running front to back. With these little mods, my voltage was pretty steady 13.3 to 14.4 while running my 2 channel Pioneer and my Planet Audio 1400w at 1ohm( i ran the amp at one ohm). I'm still going to have the Pionner on my mids and highs. I just need something stronger for my new subs.
  4. If i can get 1800w or more from one that would be perfect for my DC LVL 3 15s.
  5. I know that they are rated at 1500w, but some people say that they can do more. I'm just curious of some other people's results. I was considering getting one used for a set of DC LVL 3 15s. I think that the 1500 will be short changing their potential.
  6. Can anyone verify a post that i've seen on here stating that the SAZ-1500 can do 1970 at 12.26v? Or if you have clamped this amp, what results have you gotten?
  7. Has anyone clamped the saz 1500?? Its seems a little small for the lvl 3. They can handle 900w each and unless its underrated it will only put 750 to them.
  8. Does Lanzar do rated? How well are they built?
  9. I would rather have the AQ, but i just can't afford it. I want to be different, and I want the best, Too many people near me know about PA. I want to show them that there is a lot more out there. I just don't have that kind of cash. Unless I can find one used around $300.
  10. for the price it was a good amp.
  11. actually the amp did pretty good. I just didn't like the subs. Does anyone know is the myth true that the Hifonics amps are power hungry?
  12. I've owned a Planet Audio 1400w(that's what I had on my Kickers), so I"m really considering the PA since I kind of know that to expect.
  13. I was considering using a planet audio bb2400, a aq220(used im on a budget), or a hifonics brz2100
  14. SIll be putting around 2200w on them together. If thats not too much.
  15. The enclosure that they are going in is going to be custom built by a pro and tuned to 32hz. if that helps.
  16. How well do they do on the lows?
  17. What do you guys think of DC subs? I'm thinking about getting 2 15 LVL 3s. I've never heard them in real life and was just curious of what they would sound like after having 2 kicker L5 15s. The DCs will be going in a 6 cubic box tuned to 32hz. Oh, I forgot to mention that I like low and accurate bass(SQL).
  18. Adding bracing will be fine. it seems more sensible; especially if i'm only running 2,000w. Could you add the bracing and port optimization in for me?
  19. I was just thinking about how much more weight it would add. especially on the saggy Jeep springs. Bracing would seem more plausible to me. What does port optimization mean not to sound dumb?
  20. Would 1" make a positive difference, if so would make one in 1" MDF. Thanks I really appreciate your patience.
  21. What would be the difference in sound between 3/4in MDF and 1" MDF? I kind of was looking at 1" since the guy that builds box uses 1" most of the time.
  22. I'm doing the research to rebuild my system. I've FINALLY found some subs that I like(DC LVL 3 15s). I'm still looking for an amp for these, for i'm on a tight budget. Does anyone have a box design for these subs. its going in a 98 Jeep Cherokee. max dims are 42" wide x 25" deep and the height doesn't matter. I'm interested in sub up/port back tuned to 32hz or lower. Thanks in advance
  23. I didin't post this to start a controversial thread about DC. I want to from jeep owners and installers what alt works well with the truck.
  24. I don't think the BBB is an authority. I went to them after not getting any response from DC for days to write a review. And before I ordered anything I called DC Power. THEY told me which model to order for my particular vehicle.
