Looks like a clean install bud, good job!
It isn't his car i think, still great job and nice car
Nice car man.
Thanks guys! yeah its not my car, but it is a friends and i work on it a lot for him. And i cant take too much credit for the organized install cause as much as i dislike JL they really did think all/any issue one might bump into during install.

So step father runs a tight budget when it comes to stereo equipment. But he loves how it turned out and thats all that matters. Honestly a lot louder then I expected.
He's and Design Engineer so he had to use AutoCAD
Cutting off a full sheet. sorry i really didnt take too many pictures i only had roughly 12 hours to finish it (including paint drying time). I was moving away.
Used some caulking he had around.
You can kinda see the port edge rounded. All cuts done with Skill saw, Jig saw and all hand sanded.
Flush mount mostly for looks.
Port painted.
Wood filler to smooth things out.
All smooth and painted.
Cheap $60 Pioneer 10
In the trunk.
When I got to the car he was using his old bass tube(sounded decent still) and these crazy 6x9 things.
He bought one of those Pioneer stereo kits that have a deck 6 1/2s and 6x9s. He did the deck and door speakers but asked me to do something with the rear deck. So i did a "more" flush look. In my opinion looks tons better.
I did remove the bass tube just didnt get a picture.
He had an old Rockford zx series amp (I think thats what it was called) that he got for free that he wanted to use but it ended up not working. So he bought a $55 Dual 150watt amp from Walmart and i was impressed with the whole build. The Total cost of the build including box supplies was $260. Sounds great and gets pretty low. The box is 1ft^3 after dis. tuned to 38hz. Thanks for looking just wanted to put myself into the community.

Lookin good and I dont even mind the cap on the pickup. Good lookin sub what you got to run it?
-
I wanna see pictures of this process!
-
I.M.O. RE SX is a shit line of subs it was nothing compared to the Fi BL or DC lvl3 ive ran.
And I do agree with a better box would bring better score.
-
does the sub get low in tht box?
and you only spent 75 on that wiring, dang, did u get a deal on the stinger ?
It didnt get as low as i would have liked and yes i got most of the stinger for free from a local shop it was used in great shape just sitting in their back shop buried. Asked if they had any old 1/0 around and told my whatever i found was mine.
-
under the hood is just stock alt
stinger 1/0 ground strap off alt to chassis
stinger 1/0 Big 3 on interstate battery
stinger 1/0 positive run to the trunk
stinger 1/0 negative run to chassis under trunk
then three cheapo batts i had sitting around the shop
Batts hooked up with Install Bay 1/0 (more like slightly over sized 4awg)
with Stinger 4awg power and grounds to amp
All Install Bay 8awg for sub-woofer leads
Non of this is special but i think i only had like $75 in to the wiring

Good lookin Honda man! Honda ftw! I got a 2000 Honda prelude in my viewpoint that's a good score for 1 18 on only 1000 or so watts, can't believe that pink didn't give it a coupl more dbz haha.
Thats what I was goin for the Pink paint to increase the dbzz. I was very happy with the score. got a 148.xx in the pass. kick driver open it was pretty cool car got a lot of looks. No one runs 18's in Billings MT, cept the cars ive built. Haha but now ive moved so time to try new things in these new surroundings.

Hey this is an old build in my old Honda wish i had my old phone with more of the actual build pics but i have these ones id like to share.
Well Ran Stinger HPM 1/0 through all of it including "Big 3". Alpine Speakers all around just off alpine ida-x200 media reciever. Re Audio SX 18 (bought for $125 never seen power) powered by a Alpine M1000, in a 6.5^3 box tuned to 37~38 hz.
This is ther car its all in.
Here it is before i sealed trunk off and repainted
[/img]
all sealed with peal and seal type stuff from Lowes
Masked off for spray on deadener.
And yes that is AWESOME PLAID on my Ceiling!!!
After 6 cans of DEI Boom Mat aerosol deadener.
Then I painted it PINK!
Magnet too
Here is the finished product.
In the trunk we got the M1000 and 3 shit batts. Their just what i had sitting around the shop before the comp.
An electric cooling fan on the trunk lid too keep the amp cool during abuse as well as keep you cool when working in the trunk on a hot day
A couple pictures at the comp in Bozeman MT.
It was so hot that day that they were having issues with the Term-Lab sensors and I had overheating issues with the sub.
I still laugh at this picture! But it worked scored my highest of the day after that pic.
For my Final run i did a lil trick. I had no use for the ice so my friend dumped it on my roof and back window. You can see some still on the car here.
I took 2nd Place scoring a 144.1 sealed on the dash.
Im really happy how this one turned out cause i only invested $450 total into the stereo. So let me know what you guys think what i should have done differently. I cant learn from my mistakes unless I know the mistake is there. Thanks for lookin! All criticism welcome!

im on a pretty tight budget and found this 200amp one wire that is the same casing as factory for $153. I did find a factory style 3 wire replacement thats 170amp for $190. so do you think it best to just get the 170 for more cause its a 3 wire tying to stay under $200 for the the most i can get. Im not expecting 300amp plus alts for my price but 150-200 should be plenty for what were doing. Anything is better then factory 78amps hahaha Thanks for your suggestion.
i am fairly confident im my wiring skills so if its just a resistor issue thats easy but if its better in the long run with the 3 wire ill run that.
-
Anything? A Suggestion on where to look would be helpful. Thanks guys!

You won't see many shows on there until after finals in march.
