Emmet means upgrading your cars electrical. What upgrades as far as alternator/batteries go do you have done yet?
And max watt rating on subs are more or less useless.
Lol thats not what I meant.... as in those are bdcp's... even at 2 ohms they're gonna be putting out 3k, thats 6k to 3 subs... subs that are only rated at 800 watts, max rms dont mean shit.
lol, i really need to not post when im multitasking. I thought you said just electrical upgrades and assumed you meant his cars

with only 2000 watts you should be totally fine with just that alt and the stinger
-
Just a suggestion, but I'd just put the biggest xs you can fit under your hood and run just 1 of the RF amps.
To go from 3k to 6k will require alot in batteries or a second alt.
-
I got ya. Forgot its a 1,600 max watt subs. and I have seen those amps do 3000 watts. Well, I could do the 2 amps and then 3 of the Power T1D212 subs. That should even it out. 2 ohms is what I will run them at.

Drill out the ring or get one with a bigger I.D.?
-
Ermmm...big 3 includes alt - to batt -
slip a ring terminal from your batt - under a mounting bolt for your alt.

2 AQ 12s on a AQ 3500 would be pretty good....but a AQ 2200 on each would be better....MORE POWER!!!!!
Meh, i know every little thing counts, but 2 2200s would only be 100 watts more *rated*, then you get into the debate of if 1 or 2 amps have more or less imp rise, etc.
-
I'd recommend getting an alt first if you could, might as well do it correctly instead of helping to limp your stock one along.
-
Put a small load on it and see how much dimming you get/how fast it goes back up to 14+. Roll down both windows, put on A/C, etc.
Honestly, you're drawing a bit of power off stock with that 2200, i'd be happy with 13's
-
The problem with that is you have to either look back or get out and check it to see your voltage, I'd just get the stinger and mount it where you can see it in the drivers seat, it should be fine for ya.
I also agree with JeepGuy, certainly shouldn't need 2 runs of pos for 2k, i'd use that as a neg
-
Welp, just got my sets of terminals earlier today! Geoff definitely does some great work!
-
I'd take back the $60 dmm and get maybe a $10 one? Save a bit of cash and i'm sure it wouldn't be a big difference in readings.
Check the resistance at each fuse holder, check grounds, etc.
You have the rear batts neg connected to the one up front?
-
I agree with most. He/she should have confronted you instead, but 5 minutes isn't a big deal imo.
BUT! While we're on the subject, I have a fucking block party going on across the street, with about 10 people staring into an open trunk with 2 12's that have just enough sound that I can hear them, so it's pissing me off. Going on 4 hours now....
I'd let them hear what my new build sounds like when done, but my garage will promptly be broken into if I do.
-
Damn, that's a monster in comparison to stock!
I'm digging the fuse holder holder
-
Looks quite loud, man. Pics of the setup and definitely box!
Need a wee bit of deadener and tighten them hitch bolts! lol
-
The AQ220 and Zcon is a good combination.(be sure to set the gains correctly )
But if you go for a 2200W amp, you neeed some electrical upgrades, like a High Output alternator that puts out atleast 200-250amps and a extra battery.
I actually agree with this, should be a really nice sounding setup done correctly. If space is an issue, get a nightshade and call it a day.
-
Do you have max dimensions? I only ask because my friend had a pretty hard time trying to fit 2 10's in an undersized box, even. Those holes in the back aren't too big if i'm thinking clearly.
-
Can't comment on the reliability, although I haven't ever heard anything bad about them. But the 3500d is stout as hell, weighs in at a modest ~32 lbs o.O
-
Ahh, I see. tnx for the insight, he's probably a little busier after SBN. Ordered them on monday on no word yet, but no real rush.
Might be an increase in demand for him and XS since they make one hell of a product, and it's a damn good place to advertise, when it's being put to the test.
-
I have the same ones
Did you just get the m6/.25 option im assuming?
And do you remember how long it took geoff to ship out the terminals? Can't really use them until my batteries get here but I hate waiting for shipping, lol.
-
I assume you didn't have a fuse before your battery in the trunk? You could try taking that battery out of the equation and see what that does.
-
I'm on the same boat, just got a saz4500 for two dcxl15s.. I will be only keeping 1 alt and its a 270 amp dcpower and I was told to run 3-4 batts in the back.. I'm looking at the xs xp3000 but they're 3000w while the xs d3100 are 5000w, which is a mighty difference in the end..
xp3000 will be more or less the same as a d3100 for daily. 3000 actually has 10 more AH, but Nathan said you really wouldn't notice the difference between the two.
-
Thanks for the response, Nathan! I ended up picking up the M6/.25 option, did alittle digging and M6 has a dia. of ~.24 I think?
But I definitely did choose the wrong time to ask this question and to buy batteries...darn SBN, haha. Might be the longest next week and a half evar

Placed an order for a 3100 and 3400 from mechman yesterday, was told a 2 week backorder.
hey mechman

I'm really not the guy to ask about alternators, but I think you'd probably have to do rewinding and change out diodes (eh?) to get overall more performance, instead of more at high speed, none at idle. I can't imagine it being too profitable because i doubt very many people would have the know-how.
