Any way you guys can put a .rar file with MP3 files instead of .wav? I got a new h/u and it doesn't have a CD player so i put the tracks on a flash drive and I have to convert them all cause my h/u wont read .wav

Im looking at Knukonceptz Krystal Cables. It would run about $50 on eBay for all 6 channels

Well I guess another question is, i had two 12W7's wired to 1.5 ohms and they didn't do much unless sub level or bass boost was up. But then I put my buddys 12" Directed SX Wired to 1 ohm in my car and they hit wayyyyyyy harder. Does that .5 ohm really make that much of a difference? I already know I need to upgrade my amp (I have heard it plenty of times) its a power acoustik BAMF 4000/1d with HC1400 and cap.
^^^ 1.5 ohms... 12W7's were only made in 3 ohm SVC along with anything smaller, 13.5W7's were made with 1.5 ohm DVC.
UPDATE: I just sold the 12W7's and bought a pair of MTX 9500 4 ohm DVC and wired them to 1 ohm parallel. I bought them off of a guy on craigslist so I was sure to check them with a voltmeter first. But I also wanted to hook them up to see how they sounded and he wanted to hear them again. Well since I was having the troubles with the H/U I was just going to turn the bass boost up a little just to hear them... Well... I had just gotten into the menu on the radio then all of a sudden it seemed like I got the power back that I had with my old H/U. I had brought a friend with me and he was on the passenger side where the RCA's were ran so im wondering if maybe its a bad set of RCA's and he just stepped on the kick panel the right way or something lol. I honestly have no idea what could have caused it but I think its time to invest in some new RCA's lol. Any suggestions for good shielded brands? Not lookin to spend $20 per cable. I know streetwires are pretty solid but are also a bit pricey.

3 Sets of 2V preamp outputs (front, rear and subwoofer)
There's your issue. You in a sense down graded in the pre-out department.
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_22423_Pioneer-MVH-P8200BT.html
this was my 1st guess too but i read the owners manual and it does say 4v pre outs. but i did see the word "maximum" in there... hmm. either way he needs to re-tune the amp.
I will try testing the output voltage when I get a chance. I saw there were instructions pinned on the H/U page so I will take a look at those!

On the box of the MVH it says that it has 4V pre-outs, and the owners manual says it has 4v Max Preout Output Level
-
the 8200 actually has 2v preout im 90% sure the pioneers site lies cuz i looked at this. so u need to reset your gains
I would think that Pioneer wouldn't falsely advertise their products, but, if that is the case what does the voltage at the rca outputs affect? I just thought it meant its a stronger/better signal through the rca's?
-
are you positive both rca's on each end are plugged in snug?
I will double check but they should be!
-
try resetting your gains as well. just start from square one and work your way back up. its the only way to fully diagnose the problem and solve it at the same time.

Did you really expect a new headunit to sound exactly the same by doing the settings the same? They are different, set it up accordingly. Put the sub level to max and then scope or dd-1 your deck and amp. Leave the EQ flat.
Didnt expect it to sound exactly the same but I figured they woulda been somewhat close. But I will try to put the DD-1 on it soon
-
where do you have the sub level at? Eq?
Sub level is at 0. As far as EQ I know that the 40 Hz and 80 Hz settings are at -1. The EQ only affects front and rear correct?
-
Yup, it has Low, Mid, and High settings, I have it on high which is where it was on my old radio cause it makes the interior speakers sound much better

Help please!

I recently switched from a Pioneer DEH-P4000UB (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/CD-Receivers/DEH-P4000UB) to a Pioneer MVH-P8200BT (http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/DVD-Receivers/MVH-P8200BT). I adjusted the settings and EQ's to almost exactly what my old radio had, yet I feel like I get hardly any bass unless I have the Bass Boost or Sub Level turned up where I didn't need that with the old radio. I know they both have 4V RCA pre-outs but im not sure about their internal amperage, if anything I would think the MVH would have a bigger internal amp.
I'm not familiar with what can change between different h/u's so i'm kinda lost as to what it could be. I am just familiarizing myself with the differences in the pre-out voltages but these are the same so I wouldn't think that would affect it.
-
Yeah that makes sense now that I think about it
-
Okay thanks for the input guys. Like I said it was just an idea
-
So basically if you took a standard 4 ohm resistor and hooked it up it would fry because of the amount of current?
-
I believe it's capacitors as bass blockers. Your sub is basically a resistor
-
I was thinking abou this the other day and was wondering if you have let's say a 4 ohm SVC sub like a 9500 or something, could you take a 4 ohm resistor, wire it in parallel, and make the ohm load 2? Or is it not possible since resistors aren't polarized?
-
pulling 240 amps through wire that can handle only 150 amps. yeah that will work out just great.
Thats why I ask... To get help

Was looking into buying one of these off of someone for $200 locally but now that im reading about it, it says that 0 gauge is recommended, problem is I only have 4 gauge and dont plan on having this car forever so I really dont wanna do 0 gauge if I dont have to.
Can you still run this amp on 4 gauge? I'm getting like 12.5 volts with a Kinetik HC1200 hooked up in the back too.

The video is only 7:03 long....wrong video?I posted this video a couple weeks ago. He shows in the video how to do rounded edges. It starts around 9:18 or so.
I wanna know how to make the box have layers, get the carpet looking right, and find out where I can find some W7's to import like how this guy does with his Type R's. He makes a really nice box.
The first part of my post was referring to the video you posted. The second video goes with the second part of my post.

Already bought it, thanks though

just got 125 feet of Cadence for $15.00 shipped. Audio Savings has an e-bay store
What gauge did you get?
14ga, it's pretty good wire too
Okay I'll look into that, thank you
