  1. Hi all, I hope this is is in the right category. This is my first time using a DSP or an optical signal in a car audio application. I will start with the equipment, then ask the questions. I do have an ANC bypass installed also. 2019 Ram 1500 with factory 12" UConnect Radio PAC AP4-CH41 with APA-TOS1 For factory radio integration (I am using an optical cable from this to the DSP) Mosconi 8 to 12 Aerospace DSP Mosconi 5/30 Amp Morel Elate 502 Front stage (Mid bass in door, tweeter in factory 3.5 location on the dash) Morel Tempo Ultra Integra 692 (Rear doors) (2x) Sundown E V.4 10" in Fox Acoustics dual 10" ported box Question 1: How do I check the input signal to confirm that there isn't a factory EQ set in the radio? Do I just use a flat EQ/default settings in the DSP to see what the RTA shows? Also, without using RCA's what is the best way to check H/U clipping using the DD1? I checked it with the default DSP settings through the amp. Question 2: For anyone familiar with the Mosconi software it allows you to enter a number from 1-200 on the input side to set your input gain. I went with 100 which, if my memory serves me correctly, I believe is 0 db and 200 is +6 db. Someone mentioned to me that optical signals don't clip? Not sure how true that is but should my input gain be set higher? On the output side I couldn't get past +2.5 db before clipping on the front and rear channels where I was able to get to +6 db before clipping on the sub channel using a DD1. To me, this seems like the front/rear channels are clipping very early. Is there something I can do to fix this? With the settings the way they are, I don't feel like I get much volume-wise. If more info is needed please let me know, I am eager to learn this side of car audio. I have tried watching the Gladen Mosconi videos that Frank Miketta has on YouTube but I have such a hard time following along while having to read captions.
  2. Steve, I purchased the DD-1 (unfortunately before you started signing them and sending the window decals) but was interested in the CC-1 and IM-SG, what kind of price could you do for those?
  3. I know the post is a little old now but I went through a breakup with the g/f of over 2 years and was takin it kinda rough so I wasn't really on here. I have 5 sanctioned 300's but no 800's yet. I was throwing 15# but just recently switched to 14#. I am a fan of storm and roto grip and am currently liking the crossroads a lot! Thats me throwing a couple shots with a track 508a
  4. I know this isnt related to well... anything on the forum but just seeing whats up and if anyone bowls. What kind of equipment you use, average, tournaments, sponsorship, honor scores
  5. I was considering making another one tuned a little lower also. I am currently around 35 hz, which doesn't sound bad. I just re tuned with the DD-1 and it was sounding real good! But I either wanna go sealed or aero ported on my next box. Just not familiar with either
  6. What did you have it tuned to? And im not sure about there being a chart for converting but RE has specs for both sealed and ported im just wondering when a sealed box becomes too big and when it can damage a sub.
  7. I know most of you probably think a sealed box for this sub is stupid but I wanna try it and see what result I get for a SQ setup. Just trying to figure out what I should do as far as internal volume. RE recommends 2.1 cu ft but someone the other day suggested 3 cu ft. At what point will a sealed box be too big where I could risk damaging the sub? Also when tuning an amp for a sealed box where do you set LPF and subsonic?
  8. Okay thanks for the input. I am tryin to get the sundown from him lol
  9. Talking to a guy locally who says he has a sundown 3500, and a American bass vfl 150.1. I have a sundown 2500 and love it, he is telling that this vfl is better than the 3500. I don't know much about American bass and don't know what they do as far as how much over rated power @ 1 ohm. Reason I'm asking is because I may look into upgrading depending on his prices
  10. I know I don't have a paper with a date or name or forum on it but was in a hurry to make this post and didn't really have time, lock if needed.
  11. Cheapest I could find the 15" was $579 +shipping
