  1. I think all hu are diff on the base lvl thing ive heard alpines you turn all the way up when setting as for pioneer you get at 0 thats what i set mine at if you turn the base lvl up to 6 it makes the bass all muddy

ok but do you keep it the same throughout the whole process?

thought the dd-1 would be easy to use...this will be my second time tuning my shit with it.. hopefully it goes smoother than last time.

  2. Well, i read your post earlier and then your edited one and thought about it for a bit. Since no one has answered i guess i will and hope no one ninja's me. So short version

Head unit, bass//mid/treble at 0. subwoofer level on headunit at max, ( i like mine a 0 (-7 to +7 range))

Sub bass knob at half, if it is a gain knob, if its bass boost knob then 0

Find H/u max unclipped at 1k and 40 with 0db tones

find amp with no speakers hooked up with -5db tones.

and difference between sub gain knob and bass knob? lol its a PEQ

you said max, but then said you set it at 0?

When i find the HU clipping should it be at +6 or at 0

and when i find the bass amp clipping should it be at max which is +6??

  4. when finding the HU clipping and then the max gains, where to i set my bass knob and HU bass level during both procedures? (HU bass level goes from -24 to +6) i'd assume 0 like it says? Pioneer Deck

also do you have to disconnect your speakers while doing it? it says there's a 1-3 dB gain for unregulated and a 0 for regulated? im confused?

  5. Say a law says you cannot create noise over 90 dB in a vehicle, Noting stating about being heard at a certain distance either

    1) We all know, only the TL and possibly a few other expensive meters are accurate? So how would the police know exactly what sound pressure you are creating. Sound pressure = dB because that's what it's measured in.

    2) There may be a required distance for that level of dB to carry in order to be illegal, say 20 ft? Seems like that's not too far?

Ok lets put this in perspective, people who have the highest park and pound scores, where the meter is only 6 feet away and 6 feet in the air, are doing a 135-136 dB?? maybe more now?

So if your about 20 feet away I'd assume you are under the 90 dB, making it legal then...hmmmm

Yes even at say 50-100 feet some of our systems are absurdly loud, but in accordance with the law, I am below the legal decibel limit.

My point is Loudness is not the same as dB's as most of us know, so is this a legit argument against the law? I'm not saying I get in trouble with my system, (never got a ticket actually), just curious if my facts are correct.

Of course in some areas there may be a law stating that stereos are illegal in some ridiculous way, but not where i'm from, it just this 90 dB limit.

I didn't read everyone's responses, so sorry if I repeat something.

This is what is known as a discretionary law. Its like the loud exhaust law. Its at the officers discretion to decide whether or not your music is too loud. If a cop is haing a bad day, he's more likely to stop and cite you. Its also used a lot as an add-on. If you were speeding and he heard your music, he will probably add the sound violation to the speeding ticket, even if it wasn't over the limit.

You can take it to court, but it really depends where you live, and the judge, whether it will be dismissed or not. In a broke ass state like Cali, it is hard to get any citation overturned.

    I see

Not saying ive been in trouble, its just that i'm at that point in the game, and tbh i like to bump even not on the freeway

I dont do it in residential areas or at lights obviously
