  1. ported boxes can be designed to give a flat response.

purplesyrup, if you are looking to be impressive, put a HDC3 10 on the AQ 2200 @ 1 ohm. these things love power. they are stiffer than you in bed with a hot chick. put it in like 1.5 - 1.75 cubes net and tune 35-38 and watch that thing get down. I have personal experience with the HDC3 10s and 12s. they hit lows like you wouldnt believe. but if you are looking for the all around sound quality stick with the DDs. aha. AQ makes a good woofer dont get me wrong but dont expect it to sound like your 95

So a properly designed box may help the peakynes? maybe something designed by PWK, Im aware that he knows his acoustics really well and takes into account many things.

a properly designed ported box can produce a flat response. PWK IS NOT the end all be all box designer. i guess if you dont have a lot of experience you could ask me, AMI customs, Ray. I know AMI and I have had experience with AQ but not sure about Ray but I know Ray does well designing boxes. but a lot of it depends on your vechicle and tons of testing. the first box you do may not yield the results you are looking for. But i will say 9/10 go ported. and especially with AQ woofers go ported and give them a lot of port. Like i said before, these things are stiff as fawk. give them at least 1.5k a piece and they will start to move. ahah. If you want a design i could help you.

but sealed is def not the way to go with AQ or almost all high output applications. dont get me wrong, sealed can work in other applications with other subs, but with those subs go ported.

    whats our AQ quote..

They get down, but dont GET UP

    DD's do both...letssss gooo DD

  2. One thing i see is of course you are at 2ohm now and you will be doubling power and going down to 1 ohm. That's going to be a whole lot more electrical. if you are seeing 13.5 now i am guessing you will probably see low 12's. But the cool thing is with 1 ohm loads is whatever box rise you have now it will be less of an issue i guess.

im expecting low 12s, nothing new for me

it should be like infinitely louder, because right now its just stupid quiet, i mean for petes sake their DD 95's they should be slapping. guess the power theyre on is below that point of making them do what they do.

  3. Thats a huge power increase, they won't be twice as loud on that much power but i'm sure you'll definitely notice a difference, can those dd handle that power?

it would be a huge disappointment if they couldnt... they should be able to handle it with ease. Did it before.

  4. Say im running 2 subs on 750 rms each

how much output in theory would i gain if i ran each sub at 1900 rms?

basically now i have one amp running at 2 ohms, and in the next day or so im going to have 2 amps each on its own sub running at 1 ohm a piece.

Like how much more output should i really expect?

Also the subs i use (DD 9512s) dont seem to even get going on the current 750 a piece

What do yall i think? Feel like I've never upgraded power on the same woofer. No first hand experience on my side

  5. yeah, it was kind of hard to explain. It works good in trunks so you don't have to be climbing in trying to screw something on from the backside

ok so that is like a buffer, not the actual trim panel?

so do i screw from the front or back?

and should i just use those metal L brackets?
