It seems like the cut sheet list doesnt care about the number or thickness of baffles, but the displacement is taken in account so it's like the added baffles goes on the inside of the original one. Then it's up to you to decide if you want to shorten the sides or put the second baffle on the inside parameter of the walls. Or just slap the extra baffle on top, and you put in 16.25 as your height to give you the right internal volume without worriyng about the extra baffle. There are so many ways
I would put the bottom baffle on the inside of the walls to give the box "Z" joints between the walls and baffles, giving you almost double contact area.
And I think you are correct aobut the port height of 14.75in when wanting 17in total height
I'm still awake now at 5:29 AM so don't be mad if I eff'd up a little..
this has been the most helpful reply!
so i should just keep my port height at 14.75, change the height of the box to like 16.25, since that will account for the extra .75 baffle on top, which gives me the right air space.

yea this is my first time doing it. its not going to well, at least the design part.
-
bump my point is if your doing a slot port, shouldnt the height of the port be the same as the vertical height of the side cuts?
-
i think im doing a slot port @34hz, each sub will have at least 3 cubes after displacement.
-
i def need to remove the spare tire and put a board down.
-
i literally cannot find a spot for my amps, except maybe in the spare tire wheel well, which is underneath where the box will be, which wont work for tuning. the only place it can go is on my back seat, wish i could find a better spot for it.
-
yea im just wondering because my new box is going to be 5 inches deeper, but can only go 3 inches back, so that means its coming inches foward, prob gonna be like 4-5 inches from the back now, port is 5 inches in width though.
-
i kinda get it but, port aside, side height says 15.5, the bottom is .75 and the top is 1.5, thats still 17.75, this is completely unaffected by the port. i have subs upward, and 1 extra baffle entered, baffle thickness says .75. so confused.
-
ok i think i can do that
-
Is there a rule on how close your enclosure / port can be to the back of your trunk. im running on limited space, so i need to know if i can literally have the port like 3 inches from the back? dont care about the rattles
-
2 common walls. i guess the box will be 17.75 in heigt, not a problem, just wondering if its gonna throw off tuning
-
bump..i want loud to the ear, what frequency should i tune these to!! re recommends 34hz but that seems high if your trying to smash the lows.

H 17
W 36
D 28
to sum it up, my total height should be 17! but with the bottom piece at a thickness of .75, the top at a thickness of 1.5 and the height of the sides at 15.5 equals, 17.75 inches!
-
My subs will be upward with a baffle thickness of 1.5, or (2) .75 mdf boards glued together.
so my port which will be facing back will be 14.75 inches in height, because my height is 17, so 17-.75-1.5=14.75, this is the height of the box minus the bottom piece of wood and the baffle which is on top. The port walls height should be the same height as the walls of my box yet Torres gives me the cuts as 15.5 for the height of my walls and 15.5 +.75 +1.5=17.75 which is higher than my height of 17 that i entered? WTF???
i have baffle thickness at .75 and # of extra baffles at 1, also tried 0 extras and 1.5 baffle thickness, doesnt change a thing

ok and by amp ground you mean on the actual amp right? lol
-
ohh ok sounds good. Imma check out the manual if its online somewhere, which im assuming it is.
Also, do you plug the black probe to where the actual ground is, or into the ground input on the amp?
-
So how do you take into account the HU equalizer and the bass knob? not to mention the sub volume on the headunit? Do i just turn everything all the way up, and set the eq at flat?
-
maybe the RE 4 channel, but i doubt thats any good
-
-
Aftermarket headunit should be your first priority. Dont get an epicenter either get better subs. stay away from kicker, they can barely take rated power, i seized up so many CVR's
-
2 full length 6" aeros should work well with 36.5*17*26
puts you at about 33/34hz
only like 8.5 sq inches per foot though
-
oh hell yea this song gets down
-
where can i buy these at?
what does an aero do for me opposed to a slot port?
-
RE recommends 34hz and 4 cubes for optimal or 35hz 3 cubes
it looks like i can give them about 3.25 cubes at most after displacement.
What frequency should i tune these to if it's a daily driver in which i want the lows to slap pretty good.
subs will be up double .75 baffle
2 common walls
port middle back
hatch
the hatch has like a cover over the trunk which i want to keep over my trunk since it hides my equipment. so my max height is 17, and it might be lower now with the sub excursion. max width is 36.5, and max depth is gonna be 26-27 and that is generous. I'd be lucky to get 12-13 sq inches of port area.

yea man im so confused. i dont see me getting anywhere with this, not to mention my wires got shipped to my other address and i cant pick them up until ,mon or tues, so theres no way i can build the box till after i move my rear battery bank
