Car make and model? What size alt? What is your current electrical setup? And as HHR said, what amps?
-
Need info. Car alt size? Amp specs?
-
It's also in one of decaf's zips if you have them all.
-
That is pretty clean. And low miles, too. Awesome find.
Thanks dude. I plan in doing what you're doing with the stang, I'm gunna make that 6.2L fast and have a small system
I saw a Hennessey 6.2L Esky pull on a 370z from a 50mph roll on 288. I dont know how much money was in it though.
-
The newer ones can go up to 16v right? I had to get mine modded that's why I'm asking.

You can do a lot of things. I would think no matter what you do inside the car Atleast your power train warranty will be intact because to deny service they would have to prove the engine broke because of bass (unlikely). Now depending on what Brand car you get you will have to read up on the Bumper to Bumper warranty to see what you can do as far as interior mods.
I was late

Look into blackbear ive heard good things about them. They also retune it for free so if you do more mods on your truck you dont have to worry about pay again
Check out there website they have more info on there about all the crazy things they can do for you
Blackbeard is where it's at. They can give you a MPG tune and then when you hit the haul button you go into sport mode and get different shift points, firmer shifts, and also higher rev limit. They do In person tunes, but you have to find out when they are near you for that. The tune I like is they one where they send you a tool you plug into your com port and you drive around like normal for awhile and then send them the data and then they make you a custom tune.

Here are some REAL pics of Rob's work. Now take this into consideration. This is his best work, I told him to go balls to the walls crazy on this build.
The box, this did a 137 in the kick at 44hz. He GUARANTEED that it was capable of doing a 150 after all was said and done. Ports up subs back. He also told me that this was would be louder than firing forward sealing off. It looks WAY better in pics than in person.
The top of the box, and the trim panel I was talking about.
The amp rack
The 4 gauge wiring was cut off. Pasta Noodles FTL
The failed trunk tub leftovers
10 gauge galore!
rear deck wrapped in vinyl
I had to cut the hole out because the deck was severely choking the ports. Remember it gets lower that way according to him
That "trim piece" again
Double baffle FTW!
So yeah, his best work. He's a joke and doesn't need to be in the car audio industry anymore. Just my $.02
It's the guy with the Tahoe. Zach. I saw that box at in the corner of the shop today and thought it was someone who was just playing around. That's F'ed that he actually installed it like that. The staples and stuff were messed up. It was loosely wrapped also.

nothing to do with electrical should have the word "band-aid" in the sentence at all!
honestly PLEASE contact mike singer one more time and ask him if he has any OEM rebuilt alts with a little more @ idle
his 200a cant be 400 dollars when he price quoted me 385 for a 275a
if you have a really crazy expensive alt then maybe ill say buy a cheap brand?
but at the end of the day its your money... no one here is trying to send you in the wrong direction.
it took me about 2 weeks of emails, phone calls, and research before i bough a alternator from Mike Singer.... id double that for a "off brand" alt
if you want a real working band-aid have your Alternator rebuilt and save for the real deal... IMHO
@ whoever said it takes 6-8 weeks to get a alternator from "the big 3 alternator companies" is smoking rocks... BTW excessive amperage has inflated prices for one of the most common alternator cases in GM vehicles (AD244) (430 dollars for a 250a/140@idle) was what i was quoted from them
Everyone in this thread is talking sense. It's always good to go big the first time so hopefully you don't have to worry about that part for a long time to come.
So now just run a 65a then get a 200a and be done with it.
On another note excessive is crazy for charging that much for a AD244 case alt as it works on so many vehicles and you can get a lot more amps out of it.

if u want something nice and not too expensive go with pioneer avh-p4400BH
X2
-
The only bad thing I hear about the pioneers is that they have a slight hiss when you hit the pause button, but I think that's from not grounding the RCA's.
-
How much of a diff. Do y'all think there is between a z15 and the 18,as far as sound goes, not cone area..What do y'all say?
I don't think sound will change that depends more on the install than anything.

I run one 2k on my 2 Z's and they do work. If you have money and space do 2 2500's and 2 Z's
-
My bad I got it....trying to decide if I should run 2 18's or 1 18 on the fosgate T2500 in my ext. Chevy....any suggestions fellas?? I have the whole ext. cab part to play with for air space....
You could do one, but you would have to watch power. I say do two if you have space.
-
Wow.lol
Way more then I expected.
-
I have Knu OFC power and grounds, Knu speaker wire, and Knu RCA's. I ordered the Kord speaker wire and they upgraded me to the Karma stuff free. Knu FTW
-
Mine does the same thing. I just deal with it, but it would be nice to fix.
-
No reason you have to damage anything to use an aftermarket H/U.
No reason it would void any warranty.
It wouldn't void the warranty, but he might lose Onstar or XM or both. That's where the real cost of getting a new H/U comes in buying modules and stuff.
-
So for someone that mostly listens to mostly Decaf and Rap in general what tone should be used?
I have seen people say -5db some say 0db so I'm lost.
-
No numbers and no vids. My amp didn't like over 15.0v so it had to go back to be updated. My truck starts at 15.1 and sends my amp in protect.
-
This is fucked. Man people are evil sometimes.
-
Nice bro! U have any pix of your setup? And what vehicle do u have? What size z's? Let me know...I'd like to see your setup...
2009 Tahoe
2 Z.v3 18's
All pictures from during build. Need to stop being lazy and throw the second baffle on that bish.
Just a quick and simple build for a friend of mine ..... (3930k, SLi 670's, etc.. )

No OC
A nice simple coolant loop with white piping would look sick.
Overall it is a nice build to have fun with.
