  1. I'd say start with one layer (avoid adding anything to the ribs) and see where that gets you.

I would say 99% of the time two layers of Damp Pro is NOT necessary, heck even 100% coverage isn't necessary...

I wasnt planning on covering 100% thru out the car..BUT I figured it wouldnt hurt covering 100% in the trunk or even adding a second layer..I just wasnt sure if it was a waste or not

  2. right but on ur trunk lid it would be easy to do and easy to test with trial and error. just play music see what rattles apply ss then repeat until satisfied. as far as the rest of the car then ya u just gotta apply and hit the area and see how "dead" it sounds

i would do the trunk lid last after the system is installed

noted..thank you sir I was actually thinking about ordering a pack of Alpha Damp..even though I just bought 80sq ft. of Damp Pro I want to spoil my new baby!! and make her loud, but quiet :woot:

  3. depends... apply one layer or even less then see how much effect it had. apply more as needed

I have a brand new car and I'm trying to do everything in one attempt..I took it apart, I plan on sound deadening and putting the luxury liner and foam for the rattles. Then, running wire and installing the everything back so I wont really know how it will sound. (with actually music being played) Thats why I dont mind kind of goin 'overboard' with the sound deadening. If that makes sense

  4. Yup, did with mine at least. :drinks:

okay thanks..I wasnt sure it I was just wasting precious SS :)

Yeah you can check out this page where Jon does some comparison between a CLD and other styles of "sound deadening" and it's easy to tell that multiple layers do help with reducing vibrations :good: :

    thanks for the link!! :drinks:

  5. Depends on your budget... There are line out converters that are cheap ($20-50) but work, there's line driers like the RF BLD which is mid priced and a step up from a LOC and it's around $100, then there are processors like the RF 360.2 or 360.3, and Audison BitOne which are in the $500-1000 dollar range

oh alright, I know what your talking about..I never knew what those were for..I'm not new to car audio but I have never done anything more than new cd player, amp and subs..lol I will probably go with the RF bc I'm using all fosgate

  6. I finally pulled my radio in my Chrysler 200 S..its a NAV Radio (RHB-430N) CD/DVD/MP3/HDD/NAV 6.5" Touch Screen..It doesnt have any RCA's. I'm wondering what type of adapter I need to hook up so I can run two amps (mids & highs, and subs). I want to keep the head unit, since it is touch screen, NAV and has internal memory.

Also, I have a Boston amp and speakers that came with the car..they will be removed all together..

  7. any idea which XP battery would fit ? i know that the d3400 fits in my car. Im running like 2500 watts MAX. Also whats the difference between new XP batteries and the D series?

Dont quote me on this but I believe the XP series are designed for secondary batteries only, they arent made for your main battery under the hood..and if you can fit a d3400 under your hood..do it, you cant go wrong with going bigger!

  8. I would use a combination of Alpha Damp and Damp Pro in your G6.

Alpha - For the really flat areas like the roof and the outer door skin.

Damp or Damp Pro - For the other areas, such as the inner door skins, quarter panels, etc.

And as pointed out by our loyal customer above (thanks! :drinks: ), I wouldn't hit every square inch with product.

All totaled up I'd say no more than 80sq. ft. of Alpha and Damp/Damp Pro.

anytime I can help Jon :yahoo: I have 36sq ft. of the luxury liner as well..I will be posting pictures and probably a video of the install and my build..as soon as it warms a little

  9. just for comparison..I have a 2011 Chrysler 200 S..its a midsize sedan and I just bought an 80sq ft. pack of damp pro. I havent installed the damp pro but let me tell you 80 sq ft is WAY MORE than what I was expecting. If you plan on using the alpha damp, you only have to have about 25% coverage on a panel!! A small amount goes very far with this stuff. I only used to use dynamat as well, but I wont after using SS..Second Skin is awesome!

  10. "2011 Chrysler 200 S"

    in his sig ed lol

    with a 160A stock alt?

120A or 140A is the largest stock alts I have ever seen.

If its a true 160A thats awesome

My 2007 Tahoe has a stock 160 amp alt also.

OP, make sure you do the big three in 1/0 along with the D3400 and you should be good

The wire is on the way for the Big 3..and the D3400. I just wasnt sure if I needed an extra battery or a bigger HO alt. I'm still not sure what I will be running sub wise. Upfront I'm putting (2) sets of RF T2 6.5" components..4 mids, 4 tweeters off of a RF T400..and either a RF T1000 bdcp or T1500 bdcp for subs. I'm leaning towards the T1500 bdcp and running an Orion HCCA 10" off it..
