Sounds good to me!
And yes I got the file and have it on a flash drive as well as my email to give to my laser guy ASAP.
-
hmm true that. my entire interior is black though so that wouldnt show much on the box.......UNLESS the box was matte black with the logo plate being a high gloss black. the only other color i could think of is SKY HIGH CAR AUDIO green (color of my power wire and positive speaker wire)
-
Hmm never thought about wrapping but that could turn out pretty sweet. the box will be matte black when im done so wrapping in something like a white leatherish material would look pretty sweet i think. if i leave it bare metal i may just have big bolts holding it on the box and go for a kind of industrial look. hmmm choices to make...

thanks! what kind of finish should i give it? we normally just give it an orbital sand but we can also beadblast or polish finish. Ill post pics as soon as i can get it cut. laser guy has been out for the past 3 days sick so he will be a little backed up but will get it done ASAP!

Did you get it yet?
Not yet, I still keep getting a screen that says the file I'm looking for no longer exists when I click on the link. and I haven't been home to try and use illustrator (got to figure that out, never used it before)

I have always had good experience with ssa. Ordered some wire and fuses on a few different occasions and always got my packages within about 4 days of ordering. Friend of mine bought an amp on black Friday and as you could imagine it took a little longer but was only about a 2 week wait.

You can make them in Adobe illustrator. All you need is a really good resolution photo
Nice! I really appreciate it! I had no idea about illustrator. You didn't have to make one for me but thank you very much.

So I also posted this in the fabrication section but wasn't sure cause ito about sundown but here we go
So I have some ideas about some metal plates I want to put on my box. I would like to get the sundown audio logo cut out of some 16 gauge stainless steel. I work in a metal fabrication shop and my laser guy said he could cut it as long as I had a file to go by. Since I work there all I have to do is pay for material ( which is sweet cause we have huge scrap pieces) my question is, does anyone have any dxf files or could make one for the sundown logo? If possible I would like the logo to be about 12 to 14 inches long.

Just entered! Thanks guys!

I have a saz-1200 on two sa-12's in a 4.0 cubic box tuned to 34hz sounds good. Sq and spl are top notch. Of course the subs would have a little greater spl with more power but im happy with it...
Hmm decisions decisions. I thought about the 2 sa 12s for a while and then thought about the cool look factor as well as the crazy low end of the x 15. This is making my decisions really hard!

As long as you don't put it in a huge enclosure it should be fine. The Xs tend to loose wind in the 40-50hz range when they are in a larger enclosure. That's what I found with my X-18s at least. They will still hit lows well even in a smaller enclosure too.
Sorry to bring back up but would the x 15 still be able to have a respectable 40-55 the range not crazy like the 30s. I would be tuned either 30 or 32 hz. I like the lows but I don't want the upper range to be non existent either. Sorry for the noob questions I just don't live in an area where people have things like this so I have no way or hearing them.X-15 if you want to get down to the low 30s and 20s.
Thanks. And by larger do you mean larger than sundowns recommendation? Cause I was planning on 4.25 cubes for the 15 as sundown recommends or would that be too big?

Nice! I really like the look of the X 15 as well. Love the mega roll surround.

A X-15 would do good with that power, as would 2 SA-12's. Depends on how much you want to spend. Exactly how much airspace and what vehicle are you building it in?
I've got a 98 blazer with cargo area that's not used for anything (except the box that's in there now. So if need be I can have up to about 6 or 7 cubes comfortably. Should be more than enough haha.
-
So I got an saz-1200 and would really like to match subs and amps. What you you guys personally recommend? I have plenty of air space. I like hard hitting lows. Most of what I play is below 45hz so I'm not really picky about being loud up higher above that. I really like the lower 30s and upper 20s.
So what are some sundown recommendations on that kind of power?
And it can either be 1 12, 2 12s, or 1 15.
So what dother you think? Single sa 15? X 15? Sa 12s? X 12?
Very open to suggestions.
I hope this doesn't count as a vs thread.
Thanks!

Hey Steve (or anyone else who can answer!) What did you attach the ground to? Looks like just chassis. But is there frame directly underneath or is chassis good enough (sanded to bare metal of course)
-
Can never have too much alt or battery power.
Don't tempt me. Haha girlfriend gave me a price limit for a Christmas present so I think 240 amps wilol be enough.... for now.
-
Dang that would be sweet if I was looking for that much power! Thanks for the thought though!
-
Nice! was looking at this and the 240 amp model earlier today as a possible christmas gift for myself. wish there was a sale like on the ford v8 alts haha

A little -- about 10% compared to a very average surround like a Z v.3 series.Sorry for the noob question but does the mega roll take away cone area? It looks like it has less area but it may just be because the surround is so huge! Thanks
This translates to about 0.3dB -- which if you are utilizing even a small amount of the additional stroke allowed by the surround is moot.
Sweet! Thanks for the quick response too! Great CS

In no way shape or form am i trying to be some unknowledgeable butthole so i will gladly say that it was my fault that i didnt say that i used a DD-1 to set HU gains for mids and highs off the HU. 27 IS CLEAN. Im just typing this so no one else assumes that i just turn it up to 27 and assume that im good there because we all know what happens when we assume.
sundown logo dxf file?
