  1. So my Explorer has been one problem after the other and has nearly 189,000 miles so I've been looking around for a new car.

Anyway, I came across this 2004 Volvo S60 sedan on craigslist and thought i'd run it past you guys to see what your opinion was on Volvo's and specifically the S60.

It's got a black leather interior and the exterior is black. Comes with these custom painted rims that look a little beat-up but I would probably just sell them and get new ones or repaint them. Has a Kicker amp mounted in the trunk but would sell that and the wiring as well haha. I know there not the fastest but that's not really my concern.

But anyway let me know what you think, I scheduled a test drive on Tuesday to see how it sounds, if it rattles, if it has knocking sounds, how the transmission feels ect.

    Thanks!

  2. I would make a box solid for future replacement of those drivers or make me a single good quality driver box and save the space for omething else... of course that's just me!

so basically just bulk the box up by adding more MDF? I'm trying to stay away from bracing as much as possible.

Why avoid bracing? A single wooden dowel in the middle of the 4 subs in a box like this would serve to eliminate a ton of flex on the top and bottom pieces without adding nearly as much weight or taking up as much space as more layers of MDF.

didn't say I would never use bracing, just don't like to. but yeah a single support would work, may have to punch through the port wall though...

    Still tweaking the specs.

  3. those look like crap drivers... i'd get some obsidian 18's if you really want the cone area...

maybe start out with 2 decent 18's and go from there. you really don't need to do 4 18's to get loud.

a couple obsidian 18's on 2k or so would be pretty damned loud.

Yeah im looking at the PSI Platform 3's but the cheap ones are to hold me over till i can get them.
