  1. check out my signature with all my equipment. I run all hertz mids and highs hi energy series and I am very, very, satisfied!!!! Here in kcmo I know that the hertz milles run a list price of $1000 for a pair of 6.5" component sets. Just 1 pair. I know that is list, they retail for less. But I have heard them personally and just like the other person said, they are incredible!!! But the hi energy series is absolutely phenominal too. I truly, in my own opinion, believe they outperform jl, mbquartz, and boston. They are incredible!!!! I am only runing 1/2 the rms power to them too. About to change that and truly bring them to life but if anyone ever has a chance to experience hertz, do it. Also, audison builds hi end amps and they are affiliated with hertz. Check them out. The vrx1.500 is a 2000 watt singe channel class ab amp. INSANE!!!!! I just bought one to run my subs. The current draw at a measured 2000 watts at 1ohm is only 149 amps. That is amazing!!! I don't sell the equipment at all, but I do run the equipment and love it. Check them out. Its worth it.

  2. Hertz mids and highs. Go with high-energy components whether 5 1/4 or 6 1/2, go with the bigger if you can, they are awesome!!!! I listened to alot of stuff before I decided on what I got and I am happy, thats just my own opinion. And don't skimp on an amp or wiring, good quality makes total difference. Check them out if you can.

  3. Hey guys,

My stuff camer in today at work, i dont have any pics yet but im totally pumped so i figured id fill you guys in on the project, i gt the mille165s for my fronts, and 3 high energy subs, and an audison 3.1k and a 50ft. roll of 1awg(got enuf to hook up my bros) and then my fuse holder and rcas and stuff, all audison connection... im still working n dynamating my truck, but its all going into my 88 mazda b=2200... im thinking of adding another 3.1k and another sub and running the front bi-wired amplified... so yea, ill have pics up asap...

That sounds like some sic equipment. Check out my signature-list of equipment. All high energy mids and highs for front and rear, and the vrx1.500 for my 15's. Gonna take out the 6x9's and run the e4300 bridged to the front components to really bring them to life. And also to prevent the 15's from hurting the 6x9's. I need enclosures or something built for them (6x9s). You got any ideas at all about what I can do with this system? I would love to learn and really have an awesome sounding system. Any input helps. Thanks!!!

  4. update. The width would be 36" not 34". The subs wont fit onto the box with the other dimensions if I go 34" width. And the reason that there are two heights is because the box is not square. It looks like 2 wedges side by side so to speak. The bigger height is from the floor to the top of the box, the shorter height is from the floor to where the box has to ange in to fit into the trunk when the seats are down. And the total internal volume would be 5.86 cubes with no divider before speaker and vent displacement. Thank you so much for help, and I will keep reading responses and communicating. Thank you all so much again. Any help is appreciated!!!!

  5. Unless anyone knows what I can do to make this enclosure vented and still sound really good.

    bottom width: 34"

    top width: 19"

    height 1: 10"

    height 2: 16-1/2"

    depth: 24"

These are measurements for the largest enclosure possible to fit through the opening when I fold down the back seat. This will give an inside volume of 5.54 cubes before divider and subwoofer displacement. Again, I have no specs for these subs and don't know what the ideal vented enclosure volume would be or the port area figures, or how to tune the enclosure. If anyone has any info, let me know. Thanks much!!!!!

  6. There was an install in a vehicle I saw on your builds. It looks like there are 2 armageddons that were in there connected to a few old school fosgate amps. If those were armageddons, I need help with designing an enclosure. I have no manual and have 2 15" kmg-15's. I would love to do vented tuned very low. I have a 2002 sunfire. Want the enclosure to slide through the fold down back seat opening. If I can get a cubic foot amount with vent area figure and vent length. I could design the box to slide in the trunk. I really need help. I don't want to hurt any equipment or waste money building a box i will just have to scrap. Anyone!!!!! please help!!!! Thank you so much!!!!

  7. Thank you guys!!!! Now I need an oscilloscope, and to learn how to use one. Whatever I get, I want to make sure the power getting to it is clean.

Anyone out there have experience with fi or old skool armageddons-the old BIG ONES-kmg 15's. Or w7's? Those are my big options that I am looking at and I want all the information possible to make my decisions. Or anyone have any other suggestions on other subs? Please let me know!!!!

    Thank you very much again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. you were throwing over RMS power to a sub and pushing hard with no regard, so thats pretty much why it blew....you cant always hear clipping BTW

understood about pushing way harder than rms. again, is there any way to test the output of an amplifier to see if it is clipping? also, what about the options with the other subs to get. mainly the fi. I am basically sold unless the 15's are worth not having a warranty and taking that risk. I want some insight and opinions on that too. and thank you so much, both of you for responding. Please keep on, I need all the knowledge, insight and opinions I can get.

    Thank you!!!

  9. no nothing really to test most likely a sub problem, what power is the sub rated for? did the sub just suddenly stop or gradually stop working?

ok, I don't remember what the sub was rated for. I bought the speaker in 2000 or 2001 and since, I can't find any kove specs at all. I believe the sub is rated at 300 watts continuous and 600 peak. If those are the specs, than I can see why things went the way they did. I pushed this speaker HARD!!! Every time I was in the car, stereo was loud. The sub was playing fine for a while and then there started a slight buzzing sound. I measured the coils, and the coils showed that there was no short in them, both still read 3.8 ohms. Didn't know if it could be tiny debris inside the speaker. Well, it doesn't matter now. The coils are gone for sure. But I don't want this to happen to another speaker, like an fi btl that can handle well over 500 watts, but pop it from clipped power.

  10. I just blew my 7 year old kmg-k 12" kove armageddon with my jl 500/1. I have many options for new equipment but i need help weighing the options. Also, I have many questions about the options. Ok. I have the left over box for the 12 and it is 2.12 cubes, slot ported, and tuned to 42hz. The cubes is minus the port displacement already. I was told a 12w7 would work in the box ok but not ideally but will work while I build. Ok. Another option, fi btl 12, loaded for daily use. But will that work well in that size enclosure? on fi's site it said a 1.75 cube ported box is best. Also, I have the option to get 2 kove armageddon 15's that were built before they had any different series of armageddons. they are monsters!!!!!!!! Or I can get 2 15" armageddon U2's for the same price (500 for the pair) None of the 15's have ever been hooked up. I don't know what to get and if the lack of power till I can get more will be detrimental to the equipment. Also, how do I know if an amp is clipping? I don't know if I blew my sub from too much power, or clipping signal. I know this is alot, but please help. All the advice and input/opinions are welcome and very much appreciated!!!!!
