  1. sundown sae-1000d $319.00 on soundsolutionsaudio.com. It pushes 1113 watts at 1ohm at 13.8 volts. I know you said very budgeted, but I would wait and save rather than buying something your buddy will end up replacing in the near future anyways. If the sub can't handle that power rms, then just tune it down with a dmm to whatever wattage you need, and when he gets something to handle the power, turn it up. Just my opinion. You never know when he will want a second sub...... ^_^

  2. I have 2 fi q 15's, sealed enclosures, 1000 on each and it is insane!!!!!!! All in a trunk car. The q's are no joke. I'm not even vented and i have people saying I am crazy for having that in my car. I heard one 10 ssd in a tline enclosure, and the doors of the car were flexing. He had a sundown 1000 on his singe 10. I wont knock the ssd's. They are great speakers. I think 1600 watts on a bl would be a hurter too though.

  3. Anyone know what the weather is like in South Carolina during this time of year?

beautiful!!! all year round. My fam lived in so cal for years and you can go swimming on christmas if you want without a hitch. Oh, and if you go to cal, stop by meades and check out the whips. I am sure that would bring your spirits up!!!!!!!!!

oops, thought I read southern california.....My bad. But still so cal ftw.

  4. hey man can you tell me where you got the jlaudio's clean sweep calibration cd at

jlaudio.com go to merchandise and order off their website.

3/4 volume is so 1990's.....get an o-scope, thats the only TRUE way to find out where to set your deck/amp gains...

you know where to get a quality one for a good price? I would love to get one and learn how to use it. But I do know its the ONLY way to set equipment up CORRECTLY.

  5. I set my gains at 3/4 volume, which is 45 out of 60. I listen to music at 52. My audison amp has a max output light that illuminates when the amp has reached max output. The light starts to illuminate at volume 51-52 depending on the music. Then I know I have no more output at that point. I have a jl audio e4300 for my mids and highs also. What cd are you using to set the gains? The best cd to use is a tone cd that has no cuts or gains in the tone. I use jlaudio's clean sweep calibration cd. I have no audible distortion at all at volume 52. Just my setup man. Hope any info helps.

  6. Kandiman!!!! You yelled when sam hit the 149.1? You were over playing babysitter for my car and yelled from there? No wonder people looked at you funny. It's probably cause most people try to be so cool about the whole team competitor thing there, that all they do is say, "hmmm, good job bro." We actually get stoked when someone from the fam does well!!!!

  7. low voltage=no bueno. I popped a kove 12 inch armageddon rated at 500 watts with 500 on it. But voltage was dropping, amp most likely clipping, causing bad power. You have a 2000bd, and from what I understand there is a 250 amp fuse, right? Got to up the alt like the person above said. Make sure you have enough power to create power.

  8. im buying it from my parents, it is worth alot more then what they will give it to me for and will be alot more to anyone else who wants to buy it. as far as box designs i want it to look crazy. to make things easy i might just take out the rear seat. and build a wedge shape box sloped toward the rear and put all eight subs on the top baffle and a crazy huge port facing the rear. i like this idea because i can just open the rear door and people are like damn when they see eight subs. also it would be alot easier to build something like this instead of something like a wall. i wish i had enough money to do something crazy like assmans astro. but i think 8 subs should knock pritty good.

understood. My opinion, get it, keep it, build it, enjoy it. Doesn't matter how long it takes.
