  1. OK so I am trying to get the host of the local car shows in my area to switch from the AC (audiocontrol) to the TL. So far this is what I told him:

I think it's time for you guys to upgrade from the Audiocontrol meters and upgrade to what the rest use at IASCA, World Finals, and such SPL events.

Time to get the TL (termlab).

    Thoughts?

He got upset I guess and replied with:

Listen man your WRONG everybody don't use that meter and besides if everybody use the same meter why would they be Different Organizations it would all be the same shows !!!!!!!

Anybody got some thing I can come back with to shut him up?

  2. How's it done differently than crimping?

Crimping is done with a crimping tool (like a plier), some people use vice's, vice grips, etc. You would basically be squeezing the wire to attach it to the terminal. Soldering is done with either a pencil torch, or a soldering iron/gun, and you use solder which maybe a combination of lead or iron (although many electrical solders are lead free) and kind of weld the wire to the terminal. thats the difference between the two.. :)

Great explaination, Thanks bro. I guess this would be the same as when my grandpa when he welds metal together with a torch gun?

  3. i would say it prevents flexing some but there is also 5 gallons of fiberglass and lots of mat.....and TONS of bracing so that combo seems to work great.  You could put pennies on teh box and bump it hard and they wont move.  Very solid.

Ahh ok so pretty much it's 1 layer of 3/4 MDF holding the MTs then lots of fiberglassing? The whole purpose of the top layer is to give it that flush look?
  4. no warrenty if he installed it himself, viper will not do any warrenty work for Alarms not installed by a authorized dealer.

    check the antenna wire.

Didn't install it myself. Antenna is fine because it unlocks, locks, and the remote starts works perfectly fine. It just doesn't page me when the alarm goes off.
  5. I say if you have been running Rockford Fosgate since the 80s then it must be doing you  good! Why change 20 years later?

I lived in the Bay Area for 30+ years and then moved to the valley...Change is sometimes good. ;)

Also Rockford doesn't make the woofers I love (HX2's) and their new line is crap IMO.

OK so then why do our thoughts and opinions matter to you if you have your mind set that RF's new line is crap? It seems there's nothing to discuss here. You think RF new line is crap so your going to switch to Earthquake.
  6. ya that shit sucks, pass on my condolances........hope he gets EVEN BETTER stuff next time.

Yeah I plan on putting some of the money that Ive been working for to purchase some MTs to buy him an alarm.

Im also going to install all the new stuff he gets (except the alarm) since you can't always trust guys at the shops. This will be my first H/U install that I do, by myself. ;D
