  1. yea. Obviously this place is no help. Back to Caraudio.com Oh by the way, I found the section, way way wayyyyy past everything else... Not thee greatest thread organization.
  2. I can't decide on which one of these amps I want for my sub setup. I have a single Obsidian 15 D4 sub that I want to wire down to 2 ohms, doing no more than 850 watts RMS. I can't decide because all of them do what I want them to do. Now the question just comes down to which one is just generally better, because I want to make sure that the amp I get will last me 2-3 years. I am leaning towards the audiopipe because it can do around 1200 watts RMS clean at 1 ohm. What are your thoughts? I just want to make sure the first system I have will be good. And before you say that this is a vs thread, its not. Vs is a comparison of each, I don't want a comparison, I want to find the best amp out of those 3 for my situation. . I am not asking which one is BETTER performance wise, obviously the ASPM-1500 is the best performer, but I'm not asking that. I'm asking which one would you RECOMMEND. Vs, and OR threads are completely different. If you can't do a thread asking what amps from a list is better, then whats the point of even having a place to help people?
  3. I don't want to do more than 800 watts from that amp. I heard that after that the signal will probably be dirty/clipped.
  4. So here's what I'm stuck deciding. I have a stock 94 accord, with a stock 80 (eighty) amp alternator, 18 years old. My planned build is a single Skar VVx15 15' Sub with an Audiopipe mini 1000 watt amp. The problem comes when deciding which sub to get based on that how much power I can do. My car is everything, I need it for work, I need it for school. I need my alternator to survive. The question is, if I get the Dual 4 ohm version of that sub, and I wire it down to 2 ohms, it'll do 600 watts RMS, and I know my alternator could take that. The problem is, I don't KNOW if I could get the Dual 2 ohm version of the sub, wire it down to 1 ohm at 1000 watts RMS, and set the gain really low so I would be pushing 750 watts MAX from the amp, as 750 watts is the borderline RMS I will do with my current alt, period. So 2 questions. Would setting the gain realllllyyy low, or even at its lowest, basically reduce the amount of wattage going to the amp? And second, what would you think the SPL difference between dong 600 watts RMS vs doing 750 watts RMS would be? Would it be noticabally louder? They are the same exact sub, same exact custom ported box tuned at 32hz, just different RMS. And take into account my alternator. Thanks
