Yea your right about that I'm kind of tight on money right now an was hoping to avoid building 2 boxes. I'm new to car audio that's why I put this post up to get some opinions to lead me in the right path. An yes I em going for loud I have a sealed box right now an was hoping to get louder an I heard ported/band pass boxes get real louder then sealed.

I was wondering if one 10 alpine type r in a t- line enclosure be louder an perform better then 2 10's alpine type r's in a ported enclosure?

alright thanks.. i was just asking because on some sites it says that amp is not stable at 1ohm but no it is not going in to protect so yea ill just leave it. an yes i em in the process of selling it an getting a better amp.. an also im currently looking for some one to build me a custom box since i have a shitty pre fab sealed box..

i have a boss phantom ph5000D 1800 rms running 2 dual 4ohm 10's alpine type r's an on the owners manual it says its stable at 1ohm??but ive been doing some reading on this forum an alot of people have been saying that alot of the cheaper amps aint stable at 1ohm?? is it really true? witch i do have them wired down to a 1ohm load but do you guys think it will perform better if i had em wired down to 2ohms?http://www.bossaudio.com/auto/car-amplifier-remote-subwoofer-level-control-phantom-ph5000d/

An I woulnt even know I bought it from a local stereo shop (pacific stereo fremont California) I asked one of the guys what box would be best an he showed me that one an it looked pretty good way better wood then what the ported boxes they had. Plus it was cheaper. What specifications are the boxes made for the alpine type r's. I've been hearing you get way more spl from ported an band pass boxes then sealed? Is that true?

What's up its me again with another noob question.. I have a sealed box 2 10's alpine type R 600 rms an the box lenght are 31x14x14 how do I set up the subsonic filter on my amp to tune to that box an also the low pass cross over? What do I set that too? My amp is 1800 rms x1ohm. I searched on here before I posted this but coulnt find the answere.

Alright thanks guys yea I didn't know any better it just sounded louder that's y I did it. But I will most likely be looking to get a much better amp when I get my truck next month an will be looking to get a ported box for those subs. Thanks for the advice.

I'd be willing to spend up to $800 on an amp. An yea the gain is almost all the way turned up. So it will sound better with it turned down? Also the bass boost is up like 3/4 an my bass remote is almost 1/2 turn up.

Yea that's what I was thinking what amp would push those things to their full potential?

I need some advice on my set up this is my first real time playing with car audio an need help.. I got two Alpine type r's dual 4ohm the newer models 600 rms in a 30x14x14 sealed box wired down to a 1ohm load an being pushed by a Boss Phantom 5000 an a bx-10 soundstream epicenter but I only use it when I am bumping spanish music(corridos, Banda etc)other then that it's not connected because it doesn't sound good with My rap music. I am using 4awg power an ground wire with a 100 amp ANL fuse an fuse block. I have a stock battery an stock altenator. My questions are are alpine type r's really good subwoofers? An what about the boss amp? Cus I really don't think it's pushing a real 5000 rms like it says. I bought the amp thinking it was a good deal for $150 but now I don't think it's even close to pushing my Lil type r's To their full potential. I have the gain on the amp more than 3/4 up an it doesn't seem that loud. Some of my friends say if I get a ported box they will be way louder an others say its my amp. Also sometimes when I'm playing it loud after a while everything including my kenwood deck shuts off?. So what do you guys think I should do? Get a better amp? Upgrade my electrical? Any help would be highly appreciated.
