Reason I'm asking is because I had a total of 210 ah with my stocks and now I'm down to 110 with the 3400s.
-
This has been probably covered before I can't seem to find any links.
I replaced my 94r size battery's for d3400s.
Truck is 13 ram 2500 diesel.
My stock battery's are 105ah with 750 cca.
It seem the 3400s have less ah but more cca.
I still have just as much drop as I had before with the stocks with the new 3400s.
Only running a bc2k @ 1 ohm.
Alternator is the stock 190 amp until my singer 275 ships hopefully soon.
Is my alternator can be able to fix drop or would I need to add a third battery in the back? I drop to high 12s. Idle around a 14.3

I'm replacing both underhood batteries.
I'm trying to get away with batteries inside the cab.
My trucks stock electrical is pretty stout and I stay 13+ full tilt.
I'm replacing my stock 180amp alt with a 275 singer.

Batteries are going in a 2013 ram 2500 diesel.
Around 3000rms
Going with the 3400s
But can't decide which one would suit me better.
The s3400s or d3400s

Yea it does it everytime when im close to that area.
What are your recommendations on what to do.?
-
If it doesn't do it when playing, its fine.
Play the sub free air and see what it does
ill try that in the am
-
When you just press on the 1 side, you are causing the coil to tilt. The suspension on that sub is not that stiff to prevent you from doing that.
Can you shine a flashlight in the gap vents in the bottom of the sub and see if you can see even spacing between the coil and the pole.
Its hard to capture a picture as the vents are small and im using a iphone..
heres that noise i was talking about when poking. but it all looks even..
-
heres a video for the hell of it
-
If you are pressing evenly on the dustcap and it does not rub, there is nothing wrong. Does the coil seem to move freely when you press down or is it tough to press?
Its pretty stiff. Like i said it sounded fine when i was playing it. it just rubs only on one side if i push down on it. also if i poke on the dust cap it sound different as well if that makes any sense..
-
Okay than there is no point to make a video. i can squarely push it down and it wont do it.
My other sub i can press it at any angle no noise nothing.
what could cause this?
-
its normal because the pressure is not even making it rub.. if you press evenly and not hear it then there is no issue.. recording a video and posting it can help a lot
i understand what your saying... I just dont understand why this one does it and my other doesnt..
Give me a few momments and ill make a video
-
are you sure you pressed squarely on the cone? if the sub plays fine im wondering if you didn't press at a bit of an angle and just rubbed the coil slightly
if you dont hear any rubbing while playing then you might have not pressed the cone evenly. try doing it again but make sure your press down on it evenly
Just checked it again..
I can press directly under the dc logo and get it to rub.its a noticeable rub that you can hear and feel. now if i even it out and press above it as well it doesnt rub if thats what your meaning by square. Is it normal to hear this type of rub because this would be my first one..
And im not pressing it at a angle where it would angle the vc to it.

If you bought them from Jim, he will need to handle the warranty issue for you. If you think that is is a warranty issue, you can also fill out the Repair Form http://www.dcaudio.us/warranty.html and send it in.
For future purchases, please let myself or Jeff help you, we are not going to disappear on you after the sale, we are here to help.
Thanks ill wait on his reply. but i do believe it will be a warranty repair... Its obviously a defect as my other one doesn't do it..
And my next one i will..
are you sure you pressed squarely on the cone? if the sub plays fine im wondering if you didn't press at a bit of an angle and just rubbed the coil slightly
Its only on one side of the sub. you can hear and feel it when pressing on the side only. your can press it squarely and it doesn't do it.
You can also tap the dust cap on the end and it also sounds different. that's how i actually first noticed it so i got a second opinion on it.
It may play fine now but id rather not have it go out a month or year from now..

I need to find out who to contact on maybe getting some warranty on my subs.
I bought a pair of lvl 3 12s around 3 weeks ago. When i was installing today i was pressing one of the subs with my hand down and i could hear the VC rubbing on one side. Works and plays fine but seem like a defect... currently took that sub out so its not getting played..
I bought my subs from a different person from a different site but i cant get a response..
Whats my next step?
