  5. hi guys so i know exactly what i want for my system i was just wondering if any one has good box building software so i can see what its gonna look like when done. its going to be a really large rear wedge box for my cadillac escalade. i am going to run 4 skar audio vvx 12s i want the subs to be mounted on the front baffle. so i want to the box to be 9 cubic foot net volume with three 6" aero ports mounted on the top rear section of the box. one between each pair of subs. all the subs will be in the same air space. and the specs i came up with for size is 20" heigth 48" width 26" bottom depth and 22" top depth that should be about 11 cubic foot internal volume and leave about 2 cubic feet for sub displacement and port displacement if im correct so if any one has a program that could design a box like that it would be much appreciated.,

  8. so i ran into a little problem with my new system andi want some advice before i purchase. so i wanna run all jbl stuff i want to get two of there 12" GTI MK II subs which have dual 6 ohm voice coils gonna run in parallel so its gonna be a 1.5 ohm ending load. i was going to run a JBL Gto 1400.1 amp but all the websites say they are only stable to 2 ohms. did jbl take this into consideration when makeing these dual 6 ohm subs will the amps handle the 1.5 ohm load?? any advice would be greatly appreciated

  11. actually theres a site that sells boxes that you give your own measure ments and stuff and they build you a box that your supposed to but but after you put in all your information they give you the options to get the plans so ill sent you a link to the custom one i explaned and it will tell you the exact size for each piece its really cool okay here is your box this is the link for the specs http://www.klausaudio.com/subwoofer-boxes/customize_preview.php?boxid=46987 and here is the link for the build plans http://www.klausaudio.com/subwoofer-boxes/subwoofer-box-design.php?boxid=46987
  12. build your box like this you wont be dissapointed you should build a slot ported box with the sub on the top and the port facing the trunk lid of the car. i personally think you should run the sub at 3.5 cubes net volume, the sub will sounds a little deeper with more volume. and the box you had thought up didnt have nearly enough port area with the SRx having an 18mm xmax you need at least 65 square inches of port area with a slot port so you dont have all of the port noise. so if i were you and your not limited here is box specs Port Type: Slot Port Port Tuning: 33 Hz Port Dimensions: 16 x 4.125 x 38" long Port area: 66 square inches Number of Ports: 1 Net Internal Volume: 3.5 cubic feet Port Volume: 1.6419 cubic feet (includes displacement of port materials) Subwoofer Displacement: 0.1600 cubic feet per subwoofer Total Internal Volume: 5.3019 cubic feet ($40.60 extra) Box Dimensions: 30.125" (w) x 22.25" (d) x 17.5" (h) if you build your box to these specs i think you will be very pleased with the out come
